Description
First discovered during a Roliscian expedition to Infant Island in 1961, The White Guardian of Infant Island known as Mothra or Gigamoth maximus is one of the most peculiar and mysterious species of megafauna, even moreso than Godzilla. The first modern-day report of Mothra surfaced when billionaire Clark Nelson had kidnapped the Houtua priestesses that worshipped Mothra, hoping to profit off of them, only for the massive lepidopteran to attack both Tokyo and New Kirk City as a response for such actions. Despite this, Mothra has continuously returned, having forgiven humanity for their actions by defending the planet from whatever threats may appear.

One of the rarest and most mysterious species, the G. maximus is one of the few species not witheld to the preserve's borders as Mothra herself is not adhered to the borders of the Monsterland Paleo-Zoological Preserve. Instead, as per the agreement between the United Nations and the people of the Houtua Tribe, Mothra will on a weekly basis, monitor the preserve and maintain balance in the newly created ecosystem within the preserve. This could be observed with her assisting in the termination of several Megaguirus that have emerged in the past few years and efforts in preventing overpopulation within the ecosystem.

Unlike other species of megafauna, the G. maximus is abnormal in that she does not require sustenance in the same way as other megafauna do, to which the current priestesses of Mothra, Hio and Mana have described that Mothra is a luminous being of energy, having taken physical form, which can be observed via the many seemingly supernatural abilities that the G. maximus species possesses, such as telepathy, energy projection and what could best be described as what could be reincarnation.

Fascinatingly enough, Mothra herself possesses a fascinating effect with the other animals within the preserve as the other species seem to calm down when in her presence, save for the exception of a select few, such as Godzilla and her darker counterpart, Battra. One of Mothra's main responsibilities on the preserve also worth noting is that in the scenario of Godzilla escaping to rampage, both her and Battra would face Godzilla together. However, given that Godzilla has been relatively peaceful for years, this scenario is unlikely.

As one of the few creatures entitled to complete free reign of the preserve, Mothra's services are deeply appreciated by the staff of the Monsterland Paloe-Zoological Preserve as her cooperation in the management of the ecosystem, allows for greater understanding of how the overall kaiju ecosystem functions with the interference of the G. maximus species.
