Looking out into the courtyard. Tamworth Castle seems to be built mostly from brick and tile - the lower layers are Roman, despite Wikipedia calling it a Norman tower (and then mentioning that the Anglo-Saxons used it before the Normans arrived)
No travel these days so posting old pictures. This is from a UK trip in 2009. Diamond-shaped panes are called wuarrels, or quarries. The stone surround is called mullions. The iron bars going across are called stanchions and are because the lead strips aren't very strong.
