Description

Taken at Lérins Abbey on the Isle of Saint Honorat in France, not too far from Cannes.

Although the monastery was founded in the 5th century, the cloister here, with arches open to a courtyard on the left, was probably first built in the 11th to 14th century; its clearly been repaired or even rebuilt more recently.

The cloister is a place for meditation and pray while walking.

Saint Honorat is the largest of the islands in the Lérin Islands.
