Fiery Dawn 31

The battlefield had devolved into absolute, unimaginable chaos on both sides as the various ranks of shinobi began to mix until they could barely distinguish friend from foe.  On both sides ninja began to summon monstrous beasts to the fray from multi-headed dogs, gigantic bulls, colossal snakes, ghostly warriors, and even a huge dragon.  Due to this massive influx of beasts and confusion the battle now stretched over a five kilometer area in the surrounding forest.

Shino bounded off a tree limb and savagely drove his knee into Tenzen’s face destroying his breathing mask as their insects clashed all about them.  The locust master rolled with the hit the best he could but he knew his jaw had been dislocated.  Tenzen jumped up on his feet before he leapt into the tree above him.  He could see Shino closing in so he tore off his broken mask and threw it at Shino to distract him.
Shino swatted the mask away only to have Tenzen grab him in mid air and slam him hard into the soil below.  Shino bounced off the ground but he could tell as he did a vertebrate cracked in his back from landing hard on an exposed root.  The locust user took this brief respite to pop his jaw back into place just before he withdrew a serrated knife from his boot and leapt down on top of the beetle user from Konoha.
Shino summoned his own blade to his hand from his sleeve as he braced for the impact of Tenzen’s body.  Upon the moment of collision both shinobi grabbed the other’s hand in an attempt to stop the approach of the other’s blade and they began to roll around on the ground as they fought for dominance.  Shino head butted Tenzen in the nose three times shattering the bone and then Tenzen returned the favor by biting a chunk of meat out of Shino’s left cheek.
Shino screamed as Tenzen tore away the muscle and skin from his face but it was not a scream of pain…it was a scream of rage.  No one had ever pushed him this far in a fight ever and deep down despite the fact he could die he was enjoying every minute of it.  The two shinobi quickly separated from their violent embrace as a massive cloven hoof came crashing down through the forest canopy snapping full grown trees like twigs.
When the colossal creature moved on both Shino and Tenzen stood there motionless staring at one another from across the small opening while their insects continued to battle diligently.  Light was now pouring in and both could see the others wounds as blood began seeping through their clothes.  Tenzen smiled with a blood filled mouth as he said, “You are magnificent Shino Aburame…but I think it is time to finish this dance of ours.”
“You’re absolutely right,” replied Shino as they leapt at each other once again with blade in hand.

Naruto stomped an enemy ANBU’s body through the trunk of a tree when Shikamaru rode up beside him on a stag made purely from shadows.  The tree fell over creating a mixture of creaking and moaning sounds washed over with a sound similar to a downpour of rain as the branches came crashing down.  Shikamaru dismounted to Naruto’s side as he reported, “Hokage-sama the left flank is in danger of collapsing!  We need some support!”
“How bad is it,” asked Naruto as Konohamaru and Udon intercepted several stray kunai from striking the Hokage in the back.
“It’s bad.  Choji, Temari and Kankuro are stretched to their limits and our Hyuuga elite support is all but wiped out.  If the left flank falls Konoha will be wide open not to mention you could be surrounded,” explained Shikamaru as he took a quick draw from a cigarette to calm his nerves.
“Gaara,” called out Naruto as he saw his friend use the Desert Coffin jutsu to annihilate six enemy shinobi at once.
“What is it Naruto,” he asked as he rode his sand like a giant snake over to his comrade’s position.
“The left flank is in danger of falling and your brother and sister could use your help,” spoke Naruto as he set his sights on the Raikage in the distance, “I want you to take Risa, Shizue, Matsuri, Hinata, and Hiashi with you to support them!”
“What about you,” asked Shikamaru as he mounted his shadow stag?
“I still have Sasuke, Kakashi, Akuro and Anko along with my personal ANBU guards so I should be fine…not to mention I can become my own army if need be.  Now go and don’t let that flank fall,” commanded Naruto as he instantly formed the Rasengan and slammed it into the chest of an enemy shinobi sending them flying back thirty meters, “I’ll be fine, GO!”
“If you can form a one Hokage army…then why don’t you do it Hokage-sama,” asked Moegi as she took a defensive position beside her old sensei.
“It would be easy to…but I’m saving my chakra,” he said as he threw four explosive kunai.
“For what,” shouted Moegi as the kunai exploded sending debris, dirt and body parts into the air?
“I’m saving it for her,” said Naruto as he pointed toward the Raikage as she unleashed several lightning bolts toward a group of Gaara’s shinobi in the distance.

Naruki blinded his opponent when he pierced the invading shinobi’s eyes with his needles.  He once again successfully used his trick of hiding his needles in the shadow of a kunai.  Kaiya then wasted no time in forming two large sickles from her iron sand and sliced their adversary into two pieces.
Before they could do anything else Naruki’s attention was turned toward a burning house where he heard a scream.  The Hokage’s son felt a chill run down his spine when he recognized the dwelling as the one belonging to the three boys he had to babysit.  They were about to go into the house when another foreign shinobi engaged them with kunai in hand.
Kaiya moved swiftly into action blocking his way to Naruki as she said, “Go on Naruki-kun I got this guy!”
“Taking me lightly,” shouted the enemy shinobi as he changed direction toward her.
“Not at all,” replied Kaiya as she incased the ninja in her iron sand, “It’s just you’re already dead…Iron Tomb!”
Naruki wasted no time entering the house as he burst through the window onto the second floor while Kaiya took care of their enemy. The entire third floor was engulfed in a fiery inferno and it was quickly spreading to the second floor.  Naruki covered his mouth with his shirt as he scanned the interior with his Byakugan.  He saw only one chakra signature and it was on the first floor.
Naruki jumped down to the first floor just as part of the third floor collapsed onto the second.  He ran into the living room area where the chakra signature was…but he was not prepared for what he found.  At the feet of an invader were the bodies of the three boys and those of their parents.  Naruki stood there motionless as the jounin chuckled with glee at his reaction.
“Don’t worry you’ll join them,” stated the jounin as he twirled a kunai in his hand.
“They were just little kids,” said Naruki in disbelief, “They were just little kids!  They didn’t even stand a chance!”
“The best kind of kill…so why don’t you hold still why I carve you up too.”
The son of the Hokage felt something inside of him physically snap as he stared at the mutilated corpses of the children.  He could not believe that someone could be that cruel…that sadistic.  He felt a rage build deep from within as his chakra began to burn stronger than it ever had before in his life…and he heard a twisted voice from within.
“Master…let me kill him,” pleaded the berserker spirit, “Please master…I’ll make him suffer…please let me kill him.”
Naruki gave no verbal reply but the fox sensed his intent and joyfully took control of the boy’s body.  The enemy shinobi paused briefly when he saw the boy in front of him eyes’ turned a bright red and chakra began to solidify around his fingers like they were claws.  The fox spirit Kyribi howled with glee as he charged at the murderer and said, “Eight Trigrams Hell’s Justice!”
With his chakra claws Kyribi began a bloody retribution for the slain family that no one should ever bear witness to.  He performed an attack similar to the 64 strikes but instead of the precise, skillful strikes of a Hyuuga Kyribi tore away chunks of flesh with his chakra claws.  By the time the savage fox was done the invader lay in pieces that were strewn about the entire room in a bloody mess.
Naruki took back control of his body now that the fox’s thirst for blood and carnage was satisfied…temporarily.  At this point as he looked down at the bodies of the children Naruki felt numb unsure of how he should feel.  All he knew is there were a lot more who could suffer the same fate if he didn’t fight with all he had.  Naruki said a quick prayer for the fallen family and then walked out of the house; as he exited the roof completely collapsed turning the home into nothing more than a giant funeral pyre.
“Naruki-kun are you okay,” asked Kaiya as she jumped down beside him.  Naruki quietly looked her in the eye and said, “We have to fight harder…”
“We will,” assured Kaiya as they both leapt back onto the rooftops and back into the brutal conflict that was ravaging the great village.

Outside Konoha hospital Sakura crushed an attacker’s skull with her hands as if it were nothing more than a soft, rotten piece of fruit.  No sooner than she did this she reared back and struck another enemy in the chest with her right fist with such unparalleled force that his body exploded.  Yet another enemy shinobi closed in on her and sank a kunai deep in her side but the wife of Uchiha Sasuke never felt it.
No at this point…no at this point she only felt a mother’s need to protect her children with everything she had.  Only moments ago Tekkan and Kimi came to the hospital carrying his oldest sister Akina.  She had been brutally attacked when she tried to help an elderly couple make it to the safety of the hospital.
Kimi reported that Tekkan lost it and began stabbing the jounin over and over again in the face…until there was nothing but a hole where his face used to be.  The thought of someone harming her children was beyond anything she could handle and Sakura gave way to her own crazed vengeance.  Yukio’s assessment was correct the odds of their survival sky rocketed when Lee drank his sake but no one could foresee what would happen when a kuniochi with super strength went all out.
Once Sakura had registered the attack in her mind she grabbed the one who assaulted her by the arms and removed them effortlessly from his body just as she put her boot through his chest.  She looked up through her tear filled green eyes and seen that two more ninja were closing in on her.  –BA-DOOM-  Sakura slammed her hands together creating a shockwave so strong that it shattered every bone in both of her enemies’ bodies and caused three burning buildings on the opposite street to collapse.
Sakura looked around the battlefield and assessed their predicament as tears stained her face.  Lee was laying waste to anyone foolish enough to challenge him, Yukio’s squad was battling diligently with the aid of Tekkan and Kimi, and Shizune was doing her best to heal injuries as more people came to the hospital for refuge.  Sakura healed her own wounds and prepared for more death and destruction as twenty more invading shinobi closed in on the hospital.


Futabatei Kei jumped high into the air as a colossal snake struck down at her dodging its attack and landing on its head.  She struck it directly on the top of the skull with her monstrous strength at the same time she sent a massive electrical charge into its brain.  The massive serpent writhed in its death throws knocking over dozens of trees and crushing shinobi from both sides under its spasming body.
Kei moved away from the dead snake with her ANBU guard before she jumped up into a tree for a better view of her surroundings.  The massive black cloud of insects still clashed in the sky above and the battle was going well for her side.  She could see that the Konoha’s left flank was primed and ready to fall and the right flank was nearly in the same condition.
However the Raikage was displeased by all the summoned beasts running amuck on both sides of the battle.  She quickly decided she would take absolute dominance over the field of battle in that aspect.  She motioned for one of her ANBU guard to come to her when she jumped down out of the tree.  When he reported to her she cut his throat and used the blood gushing from his neck to form a large seal on the ground as she began forming hand signs and said, “Raikhishio: Kuchiyose no Jutsu!”
Almost immediately the air became charged with static electricity causing every shinobi’s hair to stand up on its end.  For a few seconds the battlefield went strangely quiet as shinobi on both sides began to look around at the cause of this disturbance.  Though very quickly each of the shinobi found that they had to play a deadly game of dodge as lightning began to strike the ground rapidly all over the field of battle.
The lightning strikes increased in frequency and then with a massive flash over 80 lightning bolts came crashing through the cloud of insects and converging on the seal.  All the insects that had previously been in the air as a massive black cloud of death now fell dead and charred like a soft rain to the earth.  Naruto gasped as he bore witness to a new behemoth on the field of war.
At the place where the lightning had come together now stood a creature 90 meters tall and looked very much like a man wearing heavy shinobi armor.  However his face was featureless except for two eyes that blazed with white fire under a large straw hat.  His skin was blue and glowed with a soft radiance as lightning coursed across and through his form.
Jiraiya and Tsunade landed beside Naruto as they said, “We have to get you out of here NOW!”
“Why what is that thing,” asked the Hokage as they began to retreat from the area.
“It’s an elemental summon,” answered Jiraiya, “Those things embody all aspects of one element and they can only be summoned by someone with an elemental kekkei genkai!  That thing is the embodiment of lightning and one of the strongest summons that can ever be called forth…if we don’t get away from it we’re dead!”
At the moment he finished his sentence the giant elemental raised his arms into the sky and then quickly brought them down.  When he did this hundreds of lightning bolts screamed down from the sky ravaging everything in the area and hitting most of the giant summons on the battlefield killing them instantly.  To Naruto and Jiraiya’s horror the first one hit was Gamabunta, the frog boss and they were forced to watch him be reduced to nothing but a mountain of ash before he could even defend himself.
When he seen this Naruto stopped dead in his tracks and said, “Is there a way to destroy it?”
“There’s one way…but you’re not going to like it,” answered Tsunade as a lightning bolt struck only twenty meters from them disintegrating a small group of trees.
“What is it,” said Naruto as they dodged a lightning bolt that struck directly in their midst.
“You have to use the Kyuubi’s power…you have to lose control,” replied Tsunade with a tinge of fear and regret in her voice at hearing her own words.
“Sasuke,” shouted Naruto as the one he called brother appeared beside him, “Can you take control of it?”
“No I tried the moment after its first attack,” he answered honestly, “It’s too strong…I don’t even think that’s the right word to use…more like it’s too primal.  The Sharingan had no affect on it!”
“Then there’s only one other option,” said Naruto as they all once again dodged a lightning strike, “I have to use the Kyuubi!”
“You can’t be serious,” asked Sasuke with disbelief showing even through those infamous Uchiha eyes.
“Don’t worry I have a plan…come on,” shouted Naruto as he charged back toward the monstrous elemental.
“Now…I’m really worried,” added Sasuke as he followed his best friend.

At the moment he finished his sentence the giant elemental raised his arms into the sky and then quickly brought them down.  When he did this hundreds of lightning bolts screamed down from the sky ravaging everything in the area and hitting most of the giant summons on the battlefield killing them instantly.  To Naruto and Jiraiya’s horror the first one hit was Gamabunta, the frog boss and they were forced to watch him be reduced to nothing but a mountain of ash before he could even defend himself.
When he seen this Naruto stopped dead in his tracks and said, “Is there a way to destroy it?”
“There’s one way…but you’re not going to like it,” answered Tsunade as a lightning bolt struck only twenty meters from them disintegrating a small group of trees.
“What is it,” said Naruto as they dodged a lightning bolt that struck directly in their midst.
“You have to use the Kyuubi’s power…you have to lose control,” replied Tsunade with a tinge of fear and regret in her voice at hearing her own words.
“Sasuke,” shouted Naruto as the one he called brother appeared beside him, “Can you take control of it?”
“No I tried the moment after its first attack,” he answered honestly, “It’s too strong…I don’t even think that’s the right word to use…more like it’s too primal.  The Sharingan had no affect on it!”
“Then there’s only one other option,” said Naruto as they all once again dodged a lightning strike, “I have to use the Kyuubi!”
“You can’t be serious,” asked Sasuke with disbelief showing even through those infamous Uchiha eyes.
“Don’t worry I have a plan…come on,” shouted Naruto as he charged back toward the monstrous elemental.
“Now…I’m really worried,” added Sasuke as he followed his best friend.
