Hi there! I'm here on behalf of #Traditional-Artists so you get to see all the feedback this piece got at our last Critique Night!
I hope it is helpful and you can use it for your future work!

“I like the drawing itself, but I couldn’t see straight away who it was, so the similarity with Kathryn wasn’t too good, but it’s there. Something to practice on.
Her hair looks like it’s manipulated in, if you see what I mean. There’s no shadows on her face that indicates that the hair is there, and it also needs more life and smoother lines, I think. And also deeper shows would make this a lot better. The eyes are beautiful, and you’ve done the teeth pretty well too. All this is just practice, so keep up the good work! ”

“It's lovely! The face is very well done, especially the shading on the mouth is beautiful. You might have a second look on proportions, though, the nose seems a bit short and the eyes somewhat small to me. I love the wrinkles you did there on the other hand, they add realism and expression.
I can see you put a lot of work into the hair, that's always so hard to do! A tip on it: Try not to have short very dark strokes in light hair, try long, sweeping strokes, it fits the texture better. Then you can make darker or lighter strands instead of most things the shade hue with dark bits. In my opinion you could also be more generous with shadows on the overall picture, e.g. under her chin - it's a bit hard to make out here the chin ends and the neck starts, everything's so light. Also around the eyes - be brave, it will add a lot of depth to it. The eyes are gorgeous apart from that. They convey a lot of emotion, and it is quite an expressive piece. Well done!”

“I really like the face. The detail of the eyes is amazing, and the nose and mouth look just great, as well. You might try to give the hair a more natural look, though - it seems quite stiff here (I don't know if it's supposed to be like that). Using more flowing lines and adding clearer highlights and shadows, and perhaps more contrast, on the hair could help with that. Her expression is great – you really managed to capture the mood!”

“The expression is very well done, I love how you've captured her eyes and her smile. A little more shading wouldn't hurt in the hair. The back part of it looks good, try to bring some of that in the front; the waves in her hair look good, but a little more texture would really accentuate it more. I also think the ear should be more hidden behind her hair. Other than that it looks good.”

“I really like the smile, and the shadows of the nose are very well done. The proportions and basic lines of the face are good, but totally missing the shadows and lights in almost any point of the drawing: they are very important to give volume at all, and absolutely can not be misses out. I suggest you concentrate mainly on this aspect, 'cause is in the play of shadows that is the base of traditional drawings in pencil.”

“I love the smile! It's so well done, and you're right, the teeth are grand. One thing I would say is to try and focus on more natural strokes for the hair. Rather than try and copy the hair exactly, try to make it ~flow~.”
