This is very badass. I had a FFI party, but I prefer to take the humorous approach:
Warrior: Colin (In game: COLN): Smarter than the stereotype claims Fighters are, and also the leader, but very perverted.
Monk: Mike (In game: MIKE): On the team, alive at the end, but is an otaku
Red Mage: Mark (In game: MARK): The guy playing the game, he casts spells with a Wiimote (he played it via Virtual Console). Abandoned by Colin and Mike in favor of Whitney (White Mage) and Axel (Black Mage), he and John team up with Blue Mage (FFV reference) and Devout (FFIII reference) to kill Chaos first.
Thief: Johnny (In game: JOHN): Still thiev VINGAS usual, as Blue Mage sees.

yup...that's prob the most common selection...expect I like the Monk...b/c his HP and Power is out of this world...but Ninja is 2nd b/c the redmage...he...well he's not as good as say in FFIII or V or anything other RedMages
