Description I actually have another sketch, but I'm waiting on that since I want to pair it up with another drawing. I need to do more sketch piles, it's less boring like this (well hopefully).

the anatomy is pretty wretched in these drawings i'm REALLY srry

Bullet points about these scribbles:

You'll never see Jay willingly wear his hat backwards (unless he wants to lessen the chance of the rim hitting something and it coming off). Bluntly he thinks he looks like a dewch Lol.

First time Dyami uses Jays hat to vent his frustration since he has nothing else, after it became kind of a habit. On the odd occasion he'll take his hat to scream into and give it right back and they both act like nothing happened.

If Dyami's wings get too wet, it takes quite a while before he can fly again, so Jay lent his jacket as extra protection from the rain. The leaf is like an umbrella...this joke totally wrote itself lol (yes joke they're friends and nothing else- I don't think I need to explain that but these days you might have too)

Strawberry blossoms have come out here thus this concept came. Dyami just can't escape from bad luck I didn't chuckle drawing this at all

Pffft, I love all of these so much XD Especially the fermented fruit one
Gosh, I honestly really love seeing your OCs interacting, is that weird? I've never really taken much interest in ocs before but I just love it every time you upload stuff like this

The fermented one is my personal favorite! Kekeke
Thank you so much Vi!! It means a lot to me- character interaction is so much more important to me now than ever- my problem was I didn't draw it much, it used to be more of telling and not showing. I'm trying to nip that in the bud- and even if my anatomy isn't perfect, it's ok with me, because danggit what's a character without their well, character? Lol!

Hehehe >u>
Yeah!! Maybe the reason I never get into other people's ocs is because they just draw them standing and then talk about them but never show interaction between other characters... huh. Interesting.

Well I love it! I always love seeing your ocs in my inbox, hehe >u> And trust me, I completely understand that lol. It gets to the point where you have to say, "Screw it, this is never going to be perfect, and that's okay!" I do that on a daily basis

Yeah! Like you get attached to manga/book/tv/movie characters because they're so full of life with a clear personality- people get frustrated when others don't pay attention to their ocs and that's most likely why

I never get tired of hearing that!! It's so surreal when people take an interest in my characters, yet super encouraging! And yeah exactly!!! You have to say frig it and just have fun, and you tend to naturally improve anyway! Win win lol I do it on a daily basis too!

Yeah, exactly!! You have to really love the character. With ocs, most of the time all you have is a design.

Well good! XD Man that does have to feel weird. But there it is xD I think most artists do, hehe If not, we'd probably all end up quitting in frustration lol

It was about 10 years ago that the Disney Illusion of Life and Christopher Hart's book on drawing Retro really made me think more about it-the whole you're not drawing a person, you're drawing a character. It seems so obvious now! I guess now that I think about it, a pretty good way to put it would be: The look draws you in, the character makes you stay.

AAARGH don't remind me!! If it wasn't for art being the equivalent of life's purpose for me I would of given up long ago!! So glad I was (mostly) clueless to how terrible I was and still can beGUH LOL

Yeah, exactly! I've also learned something else- that to make a good character, it's better to think about the character of the character, and not just "draw things I like." That seems obvious, but... well, I saw this video awhile ago that explained it a lot better lol. Might be worth a watch XD www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEpi3g…

HONESTLY SAME THOUGH xD I almost did give up a few years back. That was not a fun time lol.
