Zhao's cameo was amazing and sad and hilarious, and it was a total dick move that Tenzin didn't help ALL the people out of that prison, even if some of them deserved it for punching fish unprovoked. So it's my head cannon that Zhao stalked Tenzin out of there USING HIS AMAZING TRACKING SKILLS and now Tenzin has to drag him along on stuff. C'MON TENZIN BE A BROJust imagine all the fog!Zhao hilarity, tho...

This seriously needs to be canon, Zhao will show all those fishies what's what! Seriously though, one of the great things about ATLA was Aang's reaction to the results of a century-long war. Just think of how Zhao would react:Β "World peace?! What kind of sick, twisted joke is this?!" This was an awesome cameo. At first I did think it was a little messed up how he just left all those people in the fog, but when I thought about it those people could have just as easily been murderers and psychopaths.Β

I think one of the reasons that Tenzin didn't save the others was because they're from all different time zones, and it would probably do them more harm than good to get used to the new world. Plus the fact that he had to get out of their quickly probably didn't help matters.Β

I think that the spirit somehow prevented that just some random dude/tte takes everyone away. I guess that you can only savethose you know why are lost or something like that. But thatΒ may beΒ just my headcanon. :/
(Or Tenzin thought there isn't enough time and that it's better to save the world world than a bunch of people. Afterall now that the worlds aren'tapart anymore, anyone can go to the og spirit to try to help them. Heck, this may even be a later plot point.)
