Description I'M SO SORRY! I know you're all probably really, really sick of this drawing! I just don't think the photo of it really captured what I like about it; it looks totally lifeless, dull and just too soft. Even though this scan is just one part of it (and the scanner kinda made the black parts shine) I think this really shows what I like about it.

I don't really want to delete or scrap the other photo of this, though. I mean, you need to be able to see all of it. And of course, it's one of my most popular things (why does it have so many downloads, though? It has more downloads than some of my others have views)

The full drawing is here, although it's a crap photo [link]

i'm so amazed by your work. It keeps on impressing me, even though i have seen it before, i get more and more impressed by looking at all of it. i have been drawing for many years, i'm a lot older than you, but i'm not even close to get where you are. I take my hat of.

Lots of love!

Will never get sick of yout art. There is online instruction on how to photograph art if you look for it. I am very glad to see you drawing from other than photograph references. Don't get frustrated you will do great in a short time. There are also figure drawing books with the ideal human proportions, you know 8 heads high and all that. The way you render light and shadow is near perfection. I wish I had your patients.

Thank you so much I will definitely look into the photographing art thing, since I so desperately need it

I think I do have some anatomy books, so I'll probably be cracking those open soon! When I first bought them, I didn't really want to practice anything, but kinda forced myself to purchase them. At least now I'm motivated enough to actually take a look

I know what you mean. I don't care to know all the technical names of anatomy. I don't want to draw a bunch of skeletons and muscle either. I did find interesting notes like the inside of a persons ankle is higher than the outside. Little things that help us to keep proportions correct. I just bought Charles Bargue's drawing book. [link]
It is a re-compilation of the old atlier drawing techniques from the olden days. There are a bunch of drawinge to practice copying in there. These are classes that the greats took. I can't wait for it to come. It should be here the 5th. I think I will actualy have the discipline to do the exercises.

It may just be the fact that we can't see all of her face, but her head feels like it's too far to the left side of the photo and isn't sitting on her neck properly...
Great shading work though!

I'm pretty sure you're right. I've noticed that while I was drawing it; I looked at it in the mirror, and something was just off. Of course, by that time I had placed all the black and was too terrified to change it

Thanks so much for the comment!
