Description My best painted squad of the dark angel box set. Im realy getting good with my washes, and use them on almost everything nowadays (cant belive i was so against them at one point. Then again i was against layering, and do that now).

The thing that works best about them is the amout of layered colours on the main armour. (it blends much better to the eye btw, the camera makes it look rougher).

They have a kind of weathered look but i find that cool. It makes them look like they've been through some rough battles

Excellent work, i'm working on the same figures right now, though converted to be Fallen, but they aren't on this level of excellence, nice job.

washes are the best thing ever.

I did some fallen before. they're in my gallery too. The minimal colour scheme works well for them.

I decided to paint them in the World Eater color scheme to match the rest of my army, but painted the dark angels symbol on their shoulder pad to black/gold to show their fallen angel status. I've only got two fully painted at the moment but i'll post some pictures when the full group is done. It's probably the same thing i'll do with all the dark angels units that came from my newer DV kit, since the new figures didn't allow much of the simple head/shoulder-swapping.

Shame you didnt do them in black, as the background says. Something ive lreaned in my time colecting chaos is that it doesnt matter if you do drastically different colours for some squads, as it works in a chaos army. Even then, putting small hint of familler colour helps (like my dedicated marine squads having red sholders and greaves dispite the main colour being different).

I really like the way mine have turned out, my fluff doesn't really allow for anything to not be in the World Eater color scheme, but a shoulder pad in a different color to symbolize a former legion is fine for me and actually makes for a very cool unified color scheme while keeping individuality amongst the units.

I look forward to seeing it. Something that may be worthwhile if you havnt started painting is sticking spare parts from the chaos kits onto it (like the spikes and skulls and stuff). Might be worth clipping / fileing some of the more loyalist iconography off too. Also, considder defacing the dark angels logo (cut a bit out like the armours been slashed up or something).

If youve already started painting, then ignore that though XD
