Digital Painting of a Ring Tailed LemurPainted from scratch in Photoshop CS4, with a soft, round brush, over about 20 layers, using one of my own photos as reference.
Probably about 12 hours of work, give or take.
Please note that if you
but don't comment, I probably won't get a chance to say thank you... so thanks in advance! My most recent digital painting, completed in much less time than my usual... once again, put in about an hour or two a night after school and homework. Very happy that despite school stress, the art still seems to be going strong!!!
Did a lot of experimenting in this one, especially with the fur on the neck and chest. I've had a significant problem with making fur look too flat, mostly out of lack of practice, and overall laziness. Tried to break that habit, and am very pleased that I did! I know I still have a lot to learn about painting more complex fur patterns and groupings, but I'm going to do my best to work on it.
Chose the background and frame colours specifically to bring out the eyes, to make them the absolute focal point of the piece. I love painting eyes
