It's quite an ethereal picture. It is quite morose in some ways. The protective pose and obscured head.
I like the dark forms behind her. Somewhat controlling in its curling organic form. It has a great presence at the very least.
I like the simple clothing as well. It's quite natural without being revealing. Interesting.

Great piece, Charlie-Bowater . There's a really crazy sense of push and pull in this piece; the way the brush strokes in the background and in the fabric seem to sink/be pulled into the water, but also a lightness that struggles to move upward. I can feel the rage !

Your style is so distinctive and amazing I can tell it's yours just from the thumbnail image alone. I don't think I could paint while ticked off though.

absolutely stunning! I love the harshness of the stroke and the pain of emotion on the girl's face all in contrast with the softness of the butterfly and girl herself. I think with many of your pieces you need to be aware of gravity and how it affects garments and the body.

I'm genuinely curious which pieces you think I'm not being aware of gravity affecting garments. I think I make a lot of conscious effort to think about drapery and how it behaves etc. I'm interested, if you'll humor me!

I am happy to humor you! I love your work and I think you do a beautiful job with draping cloths but sometimes it looks a little flat. ImageFX Cover Issue 126, her right boob has no gravity to it. It is almost flat against her chest and I as a woman have leaned forward like this and there is rise and fall to the curves of the female form. The draping of your cloths is beautiful but the draping of the form underneath lacks the gravity it deserves. Such as, Snow White, she is beautiful and the work is amazing but again her chest and shoulders lack a certain gravity to them. They are shaped beautiful, she is a very beautiful woman but almost too much. Your use of light is also beautiful, I love the piece .Ugly Side. The way the light shines in and the draping of the fabric over the girl. But as I look at the piece I almost forget her body is under the fabric. In Riverside I love the use of light as well and how the brush strokes are so angry but the girl is so soft. The lack of gravity in her chest is where I was talking about though. The dress falls on her more like a sheet and less like a piece of chiffon, it is stiff and without movement on the right side. I love the piece i just wish the shirt was softer like you have done with other pieces, her right boob is non existent under the shirt.

Your work is always so beautiful, and it keeps me motivated and inspired. I love the brushwork in this! I'm definitely going to have to buy a print or two of your work (in addition to the two I already have!) when I figure out how much money I have.
