i told some thieving twat that he needed to take all his stolen yugio down and posted a link to copyright in a nutshell. first he told me to "fuk off". since he cant spell, then after i responded he thought calling me "pussy in boots" was some sort of insult lol. are all art thieves like nine years old?

Ha I tried explaining to some asshole thief why it did'nt matter if they gave credit to whom they stole from and they just decided to call me a "close minded, fuck-tard" so yeah, I don't see why it isn't bannable even for a first offense.

Hmm...
I think your cartoon is wrong.
For it to be about tracing...
the theif should have just made a copy of the old lady's bag and claimed it as his own, not take it.

Actually let me edit that...
For it to be about tracing:
The thief should have seen the bag, made a copy of it, then claim it as his own copy while giving the old lady credit.
o.O Doesn't seem so bad now does it?

If the lady designed her purse from scratch and sewed it together all by herself, then yeah, it does.

"Who wants a "copy" of art? Esp. when made by a different person?"
Exactly.

So they would go to the original person, benefiting them to make a profit. :]
Hence, Old lady gets money.

If only it worked that way. But it doesn't.

Many ways. A few scenarios:
- Thief forgets where he got it and just says, "Uhh, I got this somewhere but I can't remember where."
- Thief doesn't know who the original owner is, so just says, "Found this, don't know who owns it."
- Thief doesn't outright admit it's not his original idea.
- Thief DOES openly admit it is an original idea, but a good 80% of Thief's watchers never read his descriptions and just mindlessly favorite his copied purse (lol).
- Thief takes even with credit to the original, and another thief comes along and copies from the first thief, then gives the first thief credit in his purse's design. It can be diluted even further, if you have a crapload of thieves copying purses from each other. By the time they're all done, you've got a bunch of knock-off purses floating around and everyone has forgotten all about the old lady.
Those are just a few examples, but above all else, why is it asking too much to insist that someone just get permission first?
IF it worked the way you described, I don't think anyone at all would be upset by the policy decision. But this isn't a perfect world and it doesn't work out so perfectly.

I just read the journal.
How embarrassing, not to mention unprofessional, she sounded in that journal.
She's acting like those tartlets that get banned for whatever reason it may be and post a journal crying over it.
You'd think an administrator would act with better sense.

Might as well copy and paste someone's story, since it's tracing.
