Description GDI Future Orca

This probably a Future version of Orca Fighter/Bomber. Inspired from original Orca Fighter and Orca Bomber in Tiberian Sun, I tried to reconstruct GDI's favorite air support unit the Orca (For those who didn't know yet, GDI is a side in Command & Conquer (Tiberian series) world.

Beside the Inspiration of Orca Fighter and Bomber, I also get some references from Earth 2160 (which I admit, have unique visual designs of air units, most of them are very cool).

Concept:

Orca fighter and Orca bomber in C&C Tiberian Sun are both expensive and inefficient. So I think what about A multi-role fighter-bomber class Orca? An Orca with manuverability that qualifies as a fighter and have payload that qualifies a bomber.

Future Orca have 3 engines, 2 Rotational Turbofan for helicopter propulsion and One turbojet for additional velocity support.

Future Orca also have many flaps configuration that suits many different task, like interceptor, ground support, bombing-run, even gliding with offline engines. There are 8 rotational flaps available, 4 in wings and 4 in back fins.

As you may have noticed, there is an air intake with some shutters above the cockpit, the function of this intake is to swallow air from ahead and transfer it to both Turbofan rotors, providing more power to the turbofan propulsion system. The flow direction from the intake to the turbofan can be reversed, either it's to boost power or to reduce power it's at the pilot's disposal.

4 tanks at the Orca's back are external fuel tanks, it can be replaced by bombs (which must have the orca with upside down position if it's about to be dropped), extra propulsion system, or any compatible devices. It can also be removed to reduce more weight and increase agility of the orca.

The Landing gear (It's not visible right now) shaped like a joint-reverse mech's legs. I've been thinking that Straight and Humanoid-shape landing gear (well.. I forgot what's it called.. the landing gear which is gearless, looks like magnet, etc.) have less stability if compared with joint-reverse type landing gear, so I used those joint-reverse mech legs as landing gears.

More images of Future Orca will be available later. If you have any questions please feel free to ask (as long as it does involve this deviation )

As a former C&C player, I think this Orca looks positively great! I think the Orca aircraft reminds me of an air vehicle from the Hasbro military franchise GI Joe. The way it hovers, and how it acts like the hybrid offspring of both airplane and helicopter. Great combination and great work!

I always just got the bomber. Cos the Fighter didn't seem to be that good against either armour or infantry. While the bomber wipes both clean. I can't WAIT for the airbourne units in C&C 3...

Yeah, the Bomber and Fighter could just merge, because there is no air to air dogfight in C&C. The only dogfight available is in C&C Generals. I wonder if there's a dogfight in C&C Tiberian Wars...

Banshee will surely win. Their plasma weapons are chewing armor like hell, and supposedly Banshee will be more manuverable than Orcas.

yeah, mammoth tank is back. I kinda don't like Mammoth Mk II, since he likes to friendly fires everything on his railgun's path. There was a time when he's defending the base, he shot a tick tank behind my refinery and the result is I lost my refinery, lotsa money and a harvester which docked at it. The tick tank was also destroyed though.

not all bad then. XD

I liked the Mammoth simply for it's raw firepower and indestructability. It moved a bit slow for my liking, but I'd just start attacking the enemy with some MLRS or Titans, and then airlift it in with a Carryall.

Oh, and I LOVED the Ghoststalker. And the Cyborg Commander. 'I can smell their fear..'

Wow. sweet model.

I love how, it has that good ole' A-10 vibe from Tiberian Dawn.

would make an excellent Orca Bomber replacement.

Hey!! That's a pretty bad ass design! I like how you did the wings and the vent intake above the cockpit.

Hehe, Thanks. I'll make another scene of Future Orca (most likely at battle) when I have free time.

Don't understand about machines, especially what you're talking about, but...
I feel the cockpit part looks like it's made out of rubber...
