Description "We'll run away, keep everything simple
Night will come down, our guardian angel
We rush ahead, the crossroads are empty
Our spirits rise, they're not gonna get us..." - t.A.T.u.

I feel sick. My hands are freezing. -_-
People just will not leave me the f*ck alone about drawing original artwork. You'd think my dad would be pleased I have a skill and use it, and aren't just sitting around chain-smoking and watching reality TV, or having drug-fuelled orgies. I draw what I feel like. It's not a problem, so don't act like it is.

So here's my latest piece of unoriginal nothing.
You miserable, nosey bastards.

graphite, erasers (purely for fixing mistakes), and a blending stump.
A4 bristol board
reference - Supernatural screencap.

I'll probably edit this description later to pretend I was never in a bad mood. (And I did the usual scan repair job on my LCD monitor. I probably have to fix it later on my real 3D monitor. u.u)

You are SO incredible. This IS original artwork, as it's completely chosen, observed, and created by you. And also unbelivebly well done at that !

I really hate it when people get on artists for not drawing original work. Like srsly, how many people do you know that can just slap something this realistic onto a piece of paper? Every pencil stroke in there is an original stroke that you made. Nobody else put it there for you. You're really an amazing and original artist, don't let people get you down.

Yeah dont give a finger about them they are just amoeba minded people your work is always lovely and I have to ask how you made the roughness on the ground the texture is really realistic( I use salt under my paper but it doesnt work so well )

Crimefish In reply to AlexandrosVII [2010-09-16 22:08:39 +0000 UTC]

Huh, it never occurred to me to use salt, or anything like that. I just sharpened my pencil and made dots (which took ages, but that's life). Thank you very much.

Wow! This is like... PERFECT! SO AMAZING! I think this is one of my FAVORITES of yours! Seriously amazing! Do more landscapes and stuff! You should like go out and find a nice place and draw right there! I'm more into drawings of scenery. I can appreciate the skill of human/animal work, but I prefer scenery. But anyway, I still love this because the boys are smaller and stuff. If that makes sense? LOL Anyway, you're awesome!!! MashaAllah!

P.S. Sorry for the late reply!

How did I miss this?! You are such an inspiring artists for whenever I see your work it makes me strive to better myself. I just love that you don't leave anything unfinished, it always looks so damn awesome.

Sorry that people are coming down on you about unoriginal work, but please don't let it stop you from doing whatever the f*ck you want! My art professor would always let us draw from whatever we pleased, he said the only thing harder and greater then developing ones skills was finding inspiration, and if you did, then to go with it. So if Supernatural is one of the things that inspires something of the magnitude, then "original" artwork be damned!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Crimefish In reply to LoupGarouAngel [2010-05-26 10:24:30 +0000 UTC]

You're not the first person to come back to this later and say they missed it the first time around. I think visually, it's a much subtler image than most of my drawings. So it's easy to miss, especially when looking through thumbnails.

My art teacher always gave me major hairy eyeball when I'd draw portraits instead of whatever he intended, even when what he asked for was relatively vague. I don't know what his problem was, but I'm glad I drew what I wanted to, or I might have gotten sick of art and given it up altogether.

Oh god, yes. Staying inspired is hellish. Mostly that's my problem with original art. I could be great at it, if I worked hard for years... but what would be the point if I didn't enjoy it, and didn't feel inspired by the subjects? It'd be more productive to go out and get a job I hated, and then at least I'd get paid. I think something you're passionate about has better potential to be true art, than something you don't give a damn about, and drawing it makes you feel nothing.

I ramble. Thank you, again.

LoupGarouAngel In reply to Crimefish [2010-05-31 13:38:11 +0000 UTC]

Ignoring art teachers such as that is what I tend to do, art is art, and i'll follow the lesson they are trying to teach, but if the subject is repulsive, screw it.

Enjoying art is key, and I give you so much credit for sticking to your ways. You're absolutley right, why would anyone want to make art they don't enjoy? Unless the have made the choice career wise and have the mind that is able to push that aside and just do it, but I seem to find these people are hard to come by and when you do, they hate their jobs as well!

Feel free to ramble, as I often do myself, and rather enjoy engaging in conversations with others who do.

I stumbled upon one of your drawings that was a daily deviation, had to check it out of course -Supernatural related
and WOAH I had never seen ANYTHING like it!
You are AMAZING! All these pictures that you do look almost like they're screencaps, they're perfect! I wish I could draw like you
You should be able to draw anything & everything you want, don't let anyone say that you can't!

Uh, well... thank you very much. If you're interested, I have a tutorial somewhere... oh, here: [link] it's not perfect by a longshot, but it shows step-by-step how I use colours. And another step-by-step for graphite: [link]
It took a lot of agonising years to get as good as I am, and I have to keep practising otherwise I get rusty.

Thank you, again.

this is amazing, but what you said, is true, my mother is like that, but i want to draw what i want though & enjoy it, original artwork is hard & that is original anyway, because i have never seen anything like it , & drawing family can be boring aswell , i just like drawing what i'm addicted to like all artists on here

I'm embarrassed by myself, but I must fangirl at you. I saw this piece by you a while ago, in a journal feature, but for whatever reason I didn't give myself time to fave or comment. And then *cries* I couldn't find it again. I've been thinking about it ever since (yes, I have no life). I thought it was a really amazing piece. The composition, and the cropping around the Dean image... well, I just love it.

Uh, anyway. Thank you! I'm glad you think so. Contrast is the most important thing to me, when I'm working in graphite.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nargynargy In reply to Crimefish [2010-02-10 19:30:19 +0000 UTC]

Haha, I like fangirling - I do it all the time with no shame! Except afterwards when I read my comments a year later, then it makes me want to die in shame.
Anyhoo, I'm really glad you faved now though! I haven't been around much so it's lovely to hear a talented artist such as yourself take the time to comment and say these awfully nice things . Stitch in Time is one of those pieces that seemed to have an impact on people though I wouldn't have picked it myself lol. That's usually the way it goes though right?
So yeah, thank you! I really appreciate it

Believe me, your art is amazing. Draw what you want to, not what other people tell you to.
You are very talented and I don't see your works as "not-original", because I can easily recognize your style from others.

This song beautifully captures the relationship between the brothers.
-Or maybe that's my fangirl mind speaking.
I just remember the t.A.T.u filmclip. Where they kissed.

All hormonal fuelled things aside, this is an astounding work. Your realism is just stunning, and I admire you greatly for your gift.

Your colored works are amazing but I'm still a huge fan of your graphite drawings.

I envy anyone who manages to draw realistic backgrounds... and the TREES!! x)
I can't believe you drew such tiny faces and successfully replicated the likeness of the boys.

Ugh! I completely understand where your coming from. I can only ever draw when I'm truly inspired and if I happen to find it whilst watching SPN or after seeing a film, then so be it. :s

Shabaku [2010-01-03 10:55:25 +0000 UTC]

Unbelievably good, as usual! And I think there's nothing wrong with drawing 'unoriginal' work - They should just shut the f*ck up and enjoy how great you are

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

bailey--elizabeth [2009-12-28 22:55:43 +0000 UTC]

this is absolutely incredible. i seriously thought it was a black-and-white screenshot of the boys

and about people who harass you about what you draw - it's your art. you cam make whatever the fuck you want. some people did the same thing to andy warhol, and look how we view him now, eh? ;] your art is gorgeous, no matter what, and don't let anyone else's harsh words get you down.
