I wrote quite a lot of my thoughts about this here, as I had nothing to do... The fairies are a small part of The Secret Kingdom story which I have been planning for some time now.

She has chosen to be a Blue Moon fairy, sworn to heal the weak and wounded, to protect her friends in battle and in peace. They are strongest at the night, when the blue moon illuminates their reign... During the day, they are quite helpless, and ordinary creatures, as they glow very little or not at all the without blue moon (the light is source to their magic). This one wields a shield, protecting self and allies from the hostile strikes of enemies, and a mace, or to be correct, a united staff and magic wand. She can't crush any heads with it (and definitely doesn't want to), but uses it to cast protective and healing magic.

The Blue are less known than the Red Moon faeries, who wield fire and are most powerful at daytime, when the red moon shines next to the sun. Mostly because the shy and quiet faeries usually choose the Blue path, instead of the fighting and bloodshed. Next of the pixies I'll try to make a red one.
