Personality:
Callous at times, Jericho can come off as a brooding person. He doesn’t see the appeal in get togethers, only when it’s with that special someone. Otherwise, he feels more at home in the shop and will often be the last one to close. He’s awkward with raw emotion and thus resorts to “researching” (i.e. watch all the chick flicks in existence or read what romance novel he can sneak in without notice) to find a way to deal with it. Don’t ever ask why there’s a mag of Cosmo in his belongings. You might not like the outcome.
Behind the gruff exterior, lies a very passionate and caring man. He rather have smiles than anger or tears, and especially hates violence towards women and others who can’t defend themselves. He might be hard to get along with, but he is a cinnamon roll beneath that muscle.
Bio:
Jericho was born the younger of two sons. Suffering from classic favoritism, his parents would openly share their affections with their older son, often ignoring the younger. However, when his brother died in combat, his parents took it hard, and began to vent on the young boy as if he were the cause for the loss of their child. His father became indifferent while his mother never hesitated in telling her only remaining child that it should have been him. Despite this, Jericho didn’t grow up with total alienation. He found comfort in the aegislash Zhang, finding a gruff father figure with the solemn sword, and even took up some of his habits such as heavy smoking. The then lairon would crash over at Zhang’s flat, knowing that his parents wouldn’t even miss him or care if he was gone.
As he grew older, he had only one reason to go to school: Cherise, his chatot childhood friend. It was because of her that Jericho grew to love sound, always singing, chirping, much that he would nickname her Tweety Bird much to her displeasure. The two were seen as best friends, and Jericho would only appear at school when she did. If she was absent, he would flat out leave. But as the years went by, things grew heavier and heavier at home, the emotional abuse now extending to pure physical violence. Jericho then became more withdrawn, skipping despite Cherise being there, and only just managed to graduate. He didn’t walk, and soon disappear after the final day of their high school year. He then went to attempt joining the army, training hard, bulking himself up and learning some of the mechanics trade while helping tune up the vehicles. Things seemed fine, and Jericho seemed like a model soldier, but the day came when the troops would see open combat. On the day his regiment was to be shipped out, Jericho collapsed and suffered what appeared to be a panic attack. He was sent for a mental analysis, and it was confirmed that he had suffered a panic attack, also being diagnosed with anxiety, depression, and slight antisocial personality disorder. This revealed that his previous psych evaluation had been forged, leading the then aggron to be discharged honorably.
Jericho would come back home in shame, and to add that final nail to his attempts at bettering his life, the reason for that desire, Cherise, his best friend and secret sweetheart, announced that she was getting married. Joining the army in the first place, Jericho had tried to grab a scholarship to land a job with big pay, so he can buy a house, provide a sanctity before he could propose to her. But he said nothing, and celebrated with a strained smile. He did not, could not, refuse her request for him to be part of the ceremony and watch the only woman he wanted be married to someone else. During the reception, Cherise had confessed something to him. She revealed that she too had had feelings for him, but because of their drifting apart, never made them vocal. The aggron brushed it off, and a year later, accepted the role of godfather to her newborn twin sons.
The years afterwards became a blur. Without a goal or dream, Jericho lived a self-destructive life, while using what skills that he learned to scrape out a living at the junk yards, before moving upwards and landing a spot at a mechanics shop. He thought he was going to meet his end here, miserable and lower than filth, until he met her.
Diana.
It was strange circumstances that brought them together, and he still wondered if it was still an alcohol-induced dream he was living. But he never gave into his distress, instead finding a new purpose by the secret mew’s side. It started as a desire to protect her, until it grew to the desire to have her. Without realizing it, Jericho had fallen and had fallen hard for the mysterious woman who gave his life renewed meaning. It is with this resolve that he would follow her to this village, setting up a business that he knew would make his Queen grimace.
