Name: Balsa (Like a balsa wood plane. [link] )
Age: Youngadult (so I guess around 4 in doggie years?)
Breed: She's somewhat of a domesticated wolf. I don't know how else to describe it. x3
Gender: female

(Let's see if I can get this story to come out right XD)

Balsa loved her owner. They were close in age and personality. Balsa's owner was an aspiring plane pilot, and named her companion for the thing she loved most: constructing balsa wood planes.
She would build planes every day. Thousands and thousands of model plane lined the perimeter of her room. And whenever she began a new plane-building project, Balsa was always there to help. Balsa was just as obsessed with planes as her owner. She had the construction of each model memorized, and knew each name by heart. In fact, she could probably fly a plane if she wanted to, the only problem was that she was a dog. And as we all know, dogs aren't supposed to fly planes.
So as the owner's plane-flying abilities grew, Balsa's couldn't. When her owner took her first flying lesson, Balsa had to stay on the ground. Once her owner had her own plane, she would take Balsa up in the air for short trips. The more serious her owner got about flying, the less time she was able to spend with Balsa. Once she got a job flying jets for a big-time company, she rarely was at home to visit.
In her owner's absence, Balsa continued to make model planes. At first it was a near impossible task. Model kits aren't made for clumsy dog paws, and the glue stuck her fur into clumps. But eventually she got the hang of it, she began making extremely large, complicated planes like the ones her owner had made. Balsa was happy again! (Yayyyyyy!!! 8DD)
Now when her owner comes home, she flies her jumbo jet over the field where she and Balsa would fly their models.

Woot! Writing block is great. xD The story sounded a heck of a lot better in my head.

Basically, Balsa is a very determined yet soft-hearted dog. I have no idea who the "owner" is. She is the girl with no name. xD May or may not be developed as a character.

So........ About the art......

I wanted it to be a high-motion pic, but I had no idea how to draw a running dog. I used [link] as the pose ref. It was helpful :3

The background......

That plane was painful to do! PLANES: PAINS
I seriously redid the grass like 5 times. x3 I kept on trying different grass techniques, and it all just looked messy. I didn't want to use a grass brush. x3

Eventually I remembered that Kaylink has a grass tutorial! Yayyyyyyy Kaylink! [link]

I owe her and that video my sanity x3
