I'm fond of this kind of improvisation. The hippie dude in the drawing really looks like an artist I know. By the way, he also improvises with china ink. He is on DA too marbrure.deviantart.com/

Yes, it's hard not to fill the page in, & my oldest son used to tell me to fill in the whole page & not leave anything blank. It's nice to have some variety, though. Thanks very much for your comment!!

Do you mean the ink effect? I used a paintbrush to paint on watered down blue ink, then, while it was still wet, I splashed on drops directly from the ink bottle. It turned out really nicely, I thought.
