You have my love and sympathy, ST. I have often found myself completely bemused by the strong, vitriolic responses of some people toward those who are different - I can't see how it has any affect on them, or why it should bother them at all. Hopefully you'll find somewhere with people who appreciate the differences. Accepting communities are the best place to start in making more accepting cultures (as far as I can see)

DeviantArtSecret is an account where different people make secrets and send them through email. They put people's secrets up so it's all anonymous and you never have to tell anyone it's from you. It's a great way to vent about your problems, or just admit to something, that you can't tell others about or might not admit to publicly. So yeah, they do display them if you send them in.
I don't work for them or anything, I just know about them because I've used it for a long time and I've been a fan and watcher.

when ALL sides can look at each other with respect and love, even if they don't agree with each other....when that happens, then we will have peace.

True. When you get older you come to realize that the world is full of bigots and hypocrites. The only thing you can do is live your life as a example to others. Whether that be in a religious or non-religious way. I am not a religious person because frankly i find most of them to be utter hypocrites. But there are morals and values from Christianity that are worth following. Tolerance, acceptance. Do unto others as you would like to be done to you and all that. Too bad most Christians can't follow their own damn stuff.
The best way i can some it up in one sentence is: Don't be a a$$hole. It's so much easier...

I stopped calling myself a Christian due to all those who claim to be one and really do nothing that a true Christian should. I am non denominational (even the Bible says there is no religion in heaven) Why should I follow one on earth? right? I simply believe in the Lord and his teachings. And in that same manner of thinking I try to love everyone. I believe that my best ministry to others is through that love.
I actually have a gay friend who is one of my closest. We had a long talk about how we felt on both sides. I even told him I didn't fully agree with his life style. Yet he respected that and explained what he thought of my beliefs and I respected that. After almost 3 hours of talking we became better friends, and he knew he had someone to talk to if going got tough for him. If only the two sides could treat each other like that...

I am glad to see that there are younger people out there that feel this way and make the effort... it gives me hope that we are not screwed completely on this planet....
