A very well done image of a fictitious person. That is the insignia of the 94 th aero and that's not a SPAD XIII or Nieuport 28 the only aircraft used by that squadron during the war.
There was no such thing as a female squadron. women did play an important roll in WWi, driving in the ambulance corps and as nurses and serving in communication units well behind the lines. But there were no female aviators in WWI there were female pilots but not in the US military service. (Or any other military that I am aware of. that came later.)
It's a well written pice of fiction but that is what it is. You may have been told it was the case but if that is the case, your ancestors were spoofing a young child.
I am a member of the League of World War 1 Aviation Historians and know what I'm talking about.
So stop spreading false information and miss informing the public. But as I said, it's a nice image.

This vintage Valkyrie image, as with all my characters, is completely fictional. This military organization, as all the important military organizations mentioned in my renders and captions is completely fictional. The assumption is that anyone interested in the actual history on any subject including aviation will not be using my fictional highly stylized artistic images and captions as a source. I make no effort to pass my work off as anything but fiction. Hence, I am not "miss informing the public." That is not to say that some members of the public who do not take the time to familiarize themselves with my art may not miss inform themselves.

Yes, you are correct that some of your fans are going to incorrectly believe your work was factual but, You made no effort to correct the people who miss took your work of fiction as actual history. But your reply should correct this.
But that is not to take away that it is really a fine work of art.

Donna I do like this one. She seems to be part of the 94th.

Incredibly gorgeous from the details that look authentic to the lovely pilot herself.
With just a few change of details, she could also be the steampunk girl of the month.

I love the just a touch of steampunk outfit, and it's a good tribute to the women who put themselves in harm's way in times of war. Hmmm, maybe President Wilson ordered all the records destroyed, but how well was that order carried out, I wonder? "Vintage Valkyrie" suggests that not everything got tossed in the fire. One day Capt. Donna Domenitzo gets an email from an aviation historian who has found something very interesting in some old files donated to the National Air and Space Museum, Among the items were a faded photograph and a handwritten journal.

Oh, I wouldn't consider it stealing. I'd be flattered if you used the idea some day. If Valkyrie's great-grandmother was anything like her descendent, she would be determined not to let her squadron's accomplishments be forgotten. I imagine the journal would contain lists of the female pilots who lost their lives in combat, plus the exploits of the aces, great-grandma Valkyrie likely among them. Her sisters in arms could have put together a collection of letters, photos, etc. for a time capsule of sorts.
