Description Talk like a (Space) Pirate Day!

Avast you Ground-Pounders! We have a Bright Target, Prepare for a High-G burn we are going to pounce this lamb and acquire some "soft-merchandise!"

Electromag-Plasma in her right hand, drum-fed goop gun in her left and a plasma-sword on the hip

IR/low-light Radio "Patch" over her left eye.

((Not totally satisfied with this but I think I lost interest in it because I am very rusty at designing scifi-guns-probably move this one to scraps later on.))

Cool character. I've been thinking about Star Wars stories with a variety of characters/scenarios. My current path involves my first SW Saga-edition character - Vandal the Zabrak Jensaarai (A Jedi-offshoot group that wanted to delve into methods of redeeming fallen Jedi - the concept was deemed far too dangerous by the Jedi Council - so they went into hiding until Luke finds them after the death of Palpatine. They were in hiding form the Jedi Order long before Palpatine began his hunt of all "Jedi" and so managed to survive the purge.) - the story revolving around his quest to find the Twi'lek girl who will become his Padawan. This character would make a great side-kick as The Pilot.

What would the Totem-armor be? To Jensaarai that was more important than the lightsaber.

Of course to the Yuuzhan Vong they were all Jeeedai

During that war I alwasy wonder when the public was afraid and hunting Jedi what would they do if they and their Vong handlers came upon someone who was insulted by the term and stated that they were not Jedi but SITH!

The armor would be part of the interesting work. I'm still obsessed with Hiro3 for my main character and his options for armor are very limited. I've pretty much used and abused and over-used each and every piece I've got. But kit-bashing is my favorite part of this stuff - so it would be a matter of seeing which pieces I can combine along with new surfaces to get something interesting. There are a couple clothing-converter programs for use with the 3d models that converts a costume meant for one model to one that can be reasonably worn by another. I really have to buy one of them and learn how to use it.

I don't know much about the Vong, in fact I kind of prefer to ignore everything that happened in the cannon from the moment they invaded on. I kind of like their concept of using Bio-Tech instead of Mechanical-Tech, but you'd think that their doing so would mean they've got a greater connection to the life-energy of the organisms they use - and probably all other life-forms as well, which is the basis of The Force. Yet they are all Force-inept. This seems completely contrary to me which is why they bother me.

The Jensaarai place the same importance on their lightsaber as any Jedi, it's the key symbol of their office. The armor is more the proof that they've passed beyond being a mere apprentice - so each one crafts his own as a sign of his accomplishment. Of course so far we've been told nothing about the species inhabiting their homeworld, but the Rakata seeded so many species onto so many inhabitable worlds that the common ones always seem to reappear.

I was considering keeping the story near the end of the Dark Times, when staying at the fringes and staying "quiet" was the key to survival. Yet you could still find plenty of action, just make sure that you clear out before Vader shows up to ask you which Master trained you and where they were.

The discouraging thing though is that I can't reproduce more than a tiny fraction of standard Star Wars races - and they have always been the part of Star Wars I most liked. So I'd probably be doing a lot of stuff in fringe areas where "rare and unusual" species are more common than the traditional ones.

They used to be Force-sensitive, but when their home-world Died they where cut off from the force.

A child seed of the home-world a planet in it's own right, I assume was able to heal the connection somewhat.

My Dark Times character idea is someone who was infected by a Sith artifact (was rescued by Yoda-I even have a few sketches in my art section in places.) the "Dark Side" scars from the earlier event made no Master want to take her on and she was sent to the Jedi Service Corps.

Where failures end up.

She later dropped out hide her force presence and joined the Navy when the clone wards started.

Because she was not a Jedi on the books nor had she been heard from since quitting the corps she was passed over when Order 66 happened.

Now, you listen to me. You got the makings of greatness in you, but you got to take the helm and chart your own course. Stick to it, no matter the squalls! And when the time comes you get the chance to really test the cut of your sails, and show what you're made of! Well, I hope I'm there, catching some of the light coming off you that day.

Reminds me of one of the stock characters for the "darth vader cover" edition of the old Star Wars RPG, as published by West End Games, except she doesn't have a bionic arm. How a game with no real character creation system could be so popular is beyond me /shrug.

I like the drum feed glue gun. Here's a thought for designing sci-fi weapons: take a standard modern firearm, add some tubes or hoses and a wicked-looking muzzle brake (or take it off if it already has one) or cooling jacket/radiator, and change the look of the magazine if it has one showing to something a little more futuristic. And voila! Sci-fi blaster!
