I've seen stuff like this at a sanctuary in PA, too. There was this one wolf who apparently had grown very fond of rolling on his back for belly rubs...

Seems Reudi is a little more closely related to Fido the Labradoodle than the average wolf. Then again, they do share ancestors, several dozen millennia back.

No, you're right. The anatomy suits that of a wolfdog compared to a pure wolf. It is typical of hybrids to have blue eyes and mistaken for wolves, and seeing as the general public seems to think blue eyes are realistic at times while on the contrary pure wolves do not have them(though they can, it is extremely rare).
With the lack of blending in the fur markings (almost husky-like) and more dog-like anatomy, I would concur that Ruedi is very much of hybrid blood in some way, shape, or form .

Very old post but I feel the need to reply as most wolf faculties take pride in their pure wolves and calling their animals hybrids is a serious insult (and often very upsetting to the facility staff). Β Ruedi is indeed a pure wolf as Wolf Park can trace his lineage back to wolves from Wolf Hollow, a facility I know personally. However, you are correct about blue eyes. Β In this case, Β Ruedi's blue eyes, odd coloring and poor stature are the result of inbreeding on his mother's side. Β Sadly, this wolf has actually passed away. His posture looks poor here because he actually had very weak hips and unfortunately he fell through the ice on Wolf Park's pond and drown during a night. Due to his hips, he was unable to climb out. Β Very tragic end for this unusual guy. Β
