Many infrared shots are too "false color" if you know what I mean. This teases you because it lies in the boundary between real and impossible. Good one!

I have to correct you - this ain't snow, but the leafs. That's because leafs are always white in infrared 
This means you can see "snow" even in places where temperature doesn't fall below 0
