Description
In norse mythology it is said that Jormungandr (the world serpent) will rise from the sea to poison the sky. This event will herald the start of the Ragnarök, and Thor will face Jormungandr in battle. Thor will defeat the serpent but die shortly thereafter by the serpent's venom.This picture was inspired by the lyrics from one of my favorite songs; Sabaton's cover of Amon Amarth's "Twilight of the Thundergod". I like the original version too, its just that you hear the lyrics better in the cover.

Ah, yes. That song is one of my all-time favs.
This scene looks pretty epic, too. I like the dark setting and especially the tiny hint of daylight on the left. It gives the impression that the darkness isn't all natural. 
This reminds me; I gotta get back to my version of this scene one of these days. I've had the sketch lying around for too long now. >_>;;
