He's using the world to rest his foot on. That is awesome. Great attention to detail on...everything. I like the skin tones and shadows. It's almost as though the magic in his hand is fueling the portal/opening for him to walk through. He's well-built, as I would expect from a creature like him.

I'm not sure if I like the darkness of the piece or if I would like it a shade lighter. I keep going back and forth.....hmmmmm......(can't decide)

This is an excellent piece either way. Thank you for sharing.

Haha! People are seeing a lot of different things in this image. Which is a nice thing. There are some Portal fans who suggested orange/blue glows to the 'portal'. Never even heard of the game before
World under his foot huh? Interesting idea. I just plonked a stone there as he needed to have his foot on something to stay balanced. Did consider a log/tree trunk, but stone was easier Even the 'portal' was an 'accident'. (See first posts).
This was just something I did quickly without a great deal of thought and I love the different ways people are seeing it.

I love all the jewels you put on him and the flash effect in his hand, very well done, so natural.
I am still new with all the jewels stuff and it never rendered right but I will improve with time ^^

Thanks! Afraid I'm not a gamer so never heard of Portal. I googled it and watched a demo vid. Now I get what meant about glowy blue or orange edges

BTW the texture is Azrael for M4. I used some of the Azrael morph as well, plus my own extra tweaks

You know, I can't help but wonder if our discussion in the comments of Midsummer Strife Part 3 inspired this in some small part

BTW was the glowy edge a reference to Portal? I'm not a gamer so it wasn't until VVBABE mentioned the game below that I googled and spotted the blue and orange 'portals'.

Actually, it was something easy and achievable. I've had a really unproductive week with the pieces I'm working on so needed some light relief, and the DAZaholics challenge was there. Who knows what was lurking around my subconscious though

As to the portal, it was also an accident. I was messing about because I was thinking of putting a vignette on, but I had the colour set to black by mistake and when it inked in the shape I thought 'Cool, looks like he's stepping through a portal'. Will experiment with your glow/orange idea.
