Elsa stood frowning at King Hans from the doorway. He was stood by the edge of the balcony tense and angry.
Even from this high up the voices of angry citizens could be heard demanding the release of their royalty.
"Down with the bastard king!"
Elsa swallowed as this one vehement cry carried over the din. She stepped forward cautiously. "You summoned me your grace."
King Hans turned sharply and Elsa flinched and did her utmost to meet the blazing fury of his stare.
"Do you hear them!" King Hans spat viciously. "Can you hear what they call me!"
"Y...yes, my grace." Elsa said quietly. She took a few more steps forward before stopping. "They are angry."
"I know that they are angry." King Hans snarled. "I want to know why. Why should they choose to side with a filthy little witch when I have caused Arrendale to prosper in ways you never could?"
"Because I am by birth the rightful queen and my people are loyal." Elsa said. She saw King Hans clench his fist and took a step backwards.
"You've blinded them with your powers." King Hans snarled as he advanced raising his clenched fist. "Turned them against me. Against their king!"
Elsa felt the brutal sting of King Hans's leather clad hand on her cheek and staggered under the blow.
Shocked by the blow, Elsa stood breathing heavily. She could not believe that King Hans struck her. It was an absurd thought.
The painful throbbing of her cheek brought her back to reality and she straightened herself. "You would strike me when I am unarmed and you ask why the people hate you Hans."
King Hans stared at Elsa in silence. He was breathing heavily, shocked by his own anger. He allowed Elsa to back away and took a deep breath. "Return to your room Elsa. I no longer desire you presence."
Elsa looked at King Hans, speechless. He hit her and now he was simply dismissing her like some common servant.
With a deep breath she nodded and quickly walked away.
"Oh and Elsa."
she turned evidently angry and stared at King Hans cold, cruel smile.
"I am the king. Remember that or I will remind you."
