I know, i have the same poblem; when i draw with effort, it's never as good as when i draw, well... instinctly? yes. Maybe because in a sketch, we think it's not important, and we feel free to do everything. When we want to draw very nicelly, we have a little stress in ourselves, and it's restrictive. T_T
But this piece isvery nice, i like your style ^^ must

I've come to learn that when you don't pressure yourself to draw perfectly, you draw especially well. I know that sounds counterintuitive, but I've learned that the hard way. Anyway, this is very good work.

I used to do that very thing all the time when I drew something. I'd try really hard and come up with something I didn't feel was up to my expectations, and then I'd say, "Aww, screw it" and start doodling on a piece of scratch paper. More often than not, my sketch on scratch paper looked a lot better than my picture with effort.
My next question was, "Why? Why didn't I use good paper to sketch on?" I think that when I knew I was just sketching and that I didn't feel an obligation to keep it and polish my work that my mind just relaxed and able to envision what I wanted to draw better.
Anyway, good job on this sketch. Now your sketches are better than both my drawing with effort and my doodles. You're just awesome like that. Yay for more doodles!
