I spent last three days in a chalet somewhere in the Alps, with no electricity, no telephone/cellular network and nothing to do but relax, go rowing, swim in the ice-cold lake, read, write, paint and watch flowers. At night we lit candles and played boardgames. It was a blast!
I wanted something special in the chalet's visitors' book so I painted flowers we saw during our strolls around the chalet. I also painted some bao (sort of brioche-dumpling we made and steam cooked during our stay – quite an adventure since we had no steam cooker and had to fiddle with the pans and bowls we had).

Bottom left is a 'lis martagon' (as the French say), a Lilium martagon (as botanists say), a wild and protected variety of lily.
Bottom right are 'épilobes en épi' (as the French say), Epilobium angustifolium (as botanists say), also known as fireweed, rosebay willowherb, great willowherb... Very common plant, there was so much of it all around the chalet!
