Description Hello! So this was actually originally painted for the month of love challenge.... but I got bogged down with work and life and blabla.... so I didnt finish it... but I really liked the concept and I had painted the trees nicely... so 5 months later I finished it and I am really happy with it. I love mushrooms. Can you tell??? It's evil Princess Peach, and a noble valiant knight bowser. Also partially inspired by the Game Theory on cordyceps and evil Toad >D super cool.

Hello I am commenting on behalf of .

Wow, what an imagination.   As vivid as the colors used in the painting. The amount of work in this painting is amazing.  So much detail. You are 100 percent correct you can tell you enjoyed painting the wide variety of mushrooms. With all the different shapes and sizes it reminds me a bit of the coral formations you see on reefs.  However, the real impressive detail is in the Queen's gown. I like how you separated the ruffles and different levels of the dress with contrast, varying colors, and the white lines.

I am however slightly confused regarding the background.  I 'm impressed by the forest and the rich blue color you used to give it some darkness and depth.  What I don't quite get is how the forest ends and then turns suddenly blazingly bright.  If there is a reason for that (I'm sure there is) it is not clear in the painting.  Lastly and this is a minor thing.  The large flower behind her head really kind of detracts from her face.  I look at her and find myself being drawn to the plant.  She has such a deliciously evil look about her that I wouldn't not have drawn anything around her to distract from it. It should be the focus of my attention.

Overall a well imagined and creative painting.  I'm always overly impressed when anyone does anything in watercolors because I personally think it is such a difficult medium, so kudos to you for that.

Please keep in mind nothing stated in this comment was meant to belittle or degrade your wonderful work.  Have a wonderful day.

Interesting to have Peach as the "bad guy" and Bowser as the "good guy". Peach even has a more sinister look about her, with her regal purple dress, thick makeup, and flowing sleeves.

You're very right: the trees are beautifully painted. They're colorful, but not overly so. There's a lot of depth to them as well and you can see the forest is quite deep and dark. I love the creativity of all of the mushrooms. They each have a different look about them and blend well in with the Mario lore.

I'd say the dirt going up the mountain is a little too slick looking. The lighter patches of dirt make it look more like a mountain of mud (which I couldn't imagine as being very stable). These bright splotches of highlights work well on Peach's dress, however; makes her dress look silky and smooth.

On the subject of Peach, her jawline is a bit too deep. It makes her face look quite long. Even so, she's holding a lovely, surprisingly cute pout. And her hand looks superb. Finally, I love the perspective on this piece. You can see the river flowing way off in the background, as long as the cliffs behind Peach. And they're just as lively as the rest of the piece!

All in all, I love your coloring. Very bright and vibrant colors are used and it goes well with the Mario world. The foliage is so detailed and the world around them looks very much alive.

This has to be one of the most amazingly vibrant pictures I've ever seen! You've made EVERY color work side by side so well that you've made it look effortless. I think maybe her shoulders/back needs to be a touch more in perspective, however your incredible shading talent is wonderful! I adore how gorgeous the folds and colors of her dress are painted so perfectly. It shows without question how much detailed work you've put into your lovely Princess Peach.
