Hazel is a sweet young boy, considered by many as "pure" by those who know him. He's really courteous, very polite and is overall quite nice to most people he meets. While he's not the type to start conversations, he's a good listener and is empathetic. He is quite generous, willing to give more than receive, and always willing to support and help those who are in need, even total strangers (he's not gullible though). Other than that, he is doggedly loyal and selfless, and believes "true friends stick forever". This makes him quite clingy in some situations.

Hazel is very cute, usually because of his appearance, but also by personality; shy, soft-spoken, and is too delicate for his age. This is doubled by the fact that he blushes a lot from compliments, and has a passion for stuffed toys, sweets, and baking desserts.

Hazel is however, incredibly clumsy sometimes, often tripping and doing dumb mistakes. He also has a tendency to knock things over and break stuff by accident. This is what made him insecure and pessimistic, as he has grown tired of doing mistakes and just wants to be "perfect for once", yet still thinks the worst of things. He is also passive and very timid most of the time, which makes him an easy target for teasing and bullying. There are times where it will get so bad to the point that he's just totally miserable and emotional, which results in mental breakdowns or becoming a shut in for days. Because of his insecurity and fragile mental state, he can still be a bit dependent and needing support. But he still tries his best just to be able to take care of himself.
