I think Godzilla 1998 was a good kaiju movie, but a terrible Godzilla version, I mean he is a iguana the got hit by a nuke and goes to New York and has baby'sΒ

Hello, cool art. Β I Read the description and always thought they'd make a second movie. It turned out they made a show. However, I hate cliffhangers, so I'm glad they did.Β

I never understood why this version of Godzilla got so much hate. I actually really liked the film and all the little miniature Godzillas running around were adorable! This is an amazing piece of art, I absolutely love it!Β Β

It's because he contradicts what it means to be Godzilla.

I love the 1998 way better. Makes more sense, agile, still pretty powerful, smart and the design is wonderous.
Not saying the 2014 (?) Godzilla was bad but....I prefer this guy. Evem if the movie sort of tanked.

I like G2014 more. Zilla is too skinny and T-Rexish for a Godzilla design whereas G2014 has a extremely well balanced design that strikes a great deal of resemblance to β94 Godzilla. Also, take in mind that G2014 is a much more faithful adaption of Tohoβs Godzilla than Emmerichβs monster. I donβt hate Zilla as much as I did a year ago, but I still donβt like how he was portrayed as this giant asexual T-Rex iguana that wasnβt very durable and lacked atomic breatg. He may be anatomically correct in dinosaur terms, but Zilla wasnβt faithful to the source material like G2014 was, which is why the majority of G Fans despise the 1998 Godzilla.

Aahh, that makes sense, whereas I'm not a big fan o the Japanese Godzilla, just looks silly, though ti was cool when he swallowed that mini submarine when he was "evil" or something.
I'm more of a Dinosaur person, so that may have been one of the reasons Zilla appealed more to me. That short lived TV show was kinda cute too, how that hatchling would be getting bigger as time in the series grew.
But when it comes down to it, its just a matter of preference right? Godzilla 2014 was irritating though, because you BARELY saw Godzilla at all! It focused on the dumb human perspective. Yeah ,we get it, everyone is all scared or amazed at seeing his giant majestic appearance, not MOVE.ON.GUYS. I really do not care for human cast members; stop stealing the spotlight.

That IS true that Godzilla needed more screen time in G2014, but I think I know why. Gareth wanted to make Godzilla 2014 more of a actual disaster movie than a traditional Toho Godzilla film, where you watch the movie from the viewpoint of the humans. The way Gareth teases us with little glimpses of the fights and seeing Godzilla himself draws suspension and prepares the audience for the big fight ahead. If Godzilla had been fighting the MUTOs from the beginning all the way to the climax, the audience would be exhausted from all the action by the time the big climatic fight broke out, you get me?

Eehh, not a fan of disaster movies, those tend to be VERY boring to me. Usually the boring heroes make it out in the end anyways, so whats the point?
I understand, and too MUCH fighting with the plot focused on him would have been bland, but at least attempt to make it balanced. I didn't give a rat's butt about the military, the military character and his dumb family, or whatever that Malcolm in the middle Father's actor was named either. Too much filler as its called, is never good. It can result in the audience losing interest.

Well, in any case, the 11 minutes Godzilla was in was pure gold in my opinion, ESPECIALLY Godzillaβs entrance. I mean, holy shit (excuse the language) like the people are screaming in terror in the airport, yet right as Godzilla stepped in front of the building, everyone went dead silent. Itβs like they knew the King had arrived to kick ass!
I also got serious chills everytime Godzilla roared. I thought he was gonna jump out the screen and eat me lol

I didn't get any chills, but tats just me.
I didn't enjoy the movie very much, it needed more Godzilla and monsters, than the dumb humans. I'd give it a 7/10.
But each to their own. IT was cool, but could have been a little better.

Cyber Godzilla looked bloody awesome. Nice little homage to Mechagodzilla if you ask me. As for G98, yeah it's bad, but at least it's a nice movie to show to kids (I enjoyed it, but then again when I was two I was watching Aliens, the Mummy and a whole bunch of movies not really for kids). All in all, a fun movie, just not that great of a movie overall.
