“Well, let’s see… Here’s a broadcast from New York City…” Futaba paused for a minute to listen. “Oh… Yikes… This is actually kinda disturbing…”

“Well yeah, people are probably freaking out down there knowing I’m about to step on them. Honestly, I’d rather not be reminded that we’re all committing simulated mass murder.”

“No, it’s not that.”

“Huh? What do you mean?”

“I’ll just rewind it so you can listen. You understand English pretty well so you won’t need subtitles like me.”

“I’m here reporting live from Times Square,” Ann heard a female reporter say. The woman was trying to maintain a professional demeanor, but couldn’t completely hide her anxiety as she continued to speak. “As you can see the crowd behind me is transfixed on the two gigantic beings that are looming over us. Obviously with the devastation currently occurring around the world, our time here may be short now that these colossal young women have set their sights on us. There doesn’t seem to be quite the level of panic you’d expect, however. You could say reactions from the crowd are somewhat mixed. I’m going to try and interview as many people as possible while I still can to find out how they’re feeling.”

The reporter then approached a man from the crowd and asked, “Sir, what do you make of all this? Are you worried we’re all about to be stepped on?”

“I mean, that’d be my guess,” the man answered. “I was hoping Our Lord would send someone else to save us but unfortunately I don’t think he will. Not much else we can do at this point ‘cept make peace with it.”

“Why do you think Our Lord is permitting so much chaos and carnage?”

“I’m not sure. I know he sent his angels to protect us from the Phantom Thieves but now it seems like they’ve betrayed him!”

“Well, whatever’s going on, I trust Lord Dimitry,” another man interjected. “It’s probably all part of his plan to recreate the world under his new kingdom or whatever.”

“That’s right!” a nearby woman agreed. “Maybe the world has to be destroyed in order for The Great Jubilation to take place and bring about our new reality, where everything will be perfect!”

“There have been unconfirmed reports that some people from the destroyed cities around the world have come back to life,” The reporter admitted.

“See! Even if we die, Lord Dimitry’s just gonna bring us back to life again. Then the world can be restored and we’ll be in paradise!”

“Man I can’t wait for our new world to come! I bet Lord Dimitry’s just usin’ that Phantom Thief chick as part of his plan,” another man responded. “Come on, step on me, Baby! I love you!” he shouted up at Ann, which made her cringe.

The entire crowd then began to chant.

“Your will be done, O Lord! Hear our prayer and lead us into paradise.”

“Ugh, gross!” Ann exclaimed. “Now they’re praying to Dimitry like he’s their god?”

“Yeah… I can’t say I’m surprised,” Futaba replied. “Since this is his Palace, I’m sure his is the only religion that exists here.”

“Forget about Dimitry!” Shiho shouted at the tiny people below and pointed at Ann. “She’s your new goddess, so you all had better start worshipping her if you want to go to heaven after she steps on you!”

The crowed just ignored her and continued the same chant.

“Nice try,” Ann responded, “but hardly anyone down there probably speaks Japanese, so I doubt they understood anything you said.”

“Oh yeah, I guess that’s true. Too bad I suck at English.”

“They probably wouldn’t have listened anyway. Let’s just this over with!”

“Oh God, she’s lifting up her foot! I think this might be it!” The reporter shouted as the sole of Ann’s foot filled the sky above the city. “AAAAAAAAHHHHH!” she screamed along with a portion of the crowd as the gargantuan pigtailed blonde wiped out Manhattan with a single step.
