Whew! This doll was a really fun challenge! This is Vexanith, and he is a rooster demi god. Fittingly, he has roughly 200 rooster feathers each painstakingly hand sewn to his pelt. He also sports a carnivore mouth which is based off of the coyote and a herbivore mouth based off saber fanged Asian deer like muntjaks and musk deer. He is fully posable and quite cuddly!

Hi Sarah, just to let you know I got my customs letter on Saturday and went to the parcel force depot to pay the import fees and pick him up.
Oh my goodness, I love him so so much. I knew the rough size when I saw the WIPs and the final pictures, but I didn't realise just how big he is. His tail is so epic and I love all of his feet, the chicken ones are just perfect. His head is amazing too. He is everything I expected and more. he's just wonderful.
His posability is great. He's been exploring his new home since I got him and now he's curled up in my lap resting. Its been a big day for him.
I just knew that you were the right one to make him and if you ever need a customer testimonial I will happily provide one. Im already thinking about what else I could commission you for, I love your work so much.

he made it through quite quickly which i was really pleased with and for once i wasn't charged an arm and a leg.
at the moment, he is relaxing on my parent's arm chair after his day of exploring yesterday. he very much likes my partner's fish tank but is very disappointed that we have no roosters.
i have an ebay account so i will go over there and leave you many a compliments there too, and if any potential client wants to email/message a previous customer for reassurance you are welcome to give them my email address

Oh haha! I can't take all the credit there, it was a special polish that came with a clear coat mixed with cellophane trimmings so it looks like stained glass ^_^

Dem feathers! Wow they look so pretty. They must have taken forever! Crikey. I love the tail. He looks pretty true to design too so well worth the effort he clearly took.

The tail was tricky, I wish I'd had twice as many feathers for it! I cut out the pattern for a normal tail, but then I slit it down like a banana peel and sewed the feathers down every inch or so before sewing them back together and dying the fur green to match. I have to find a better way to stab the needle through the thick quicks, my thumb was the pin cushion a bit too often here LOL ^_^

Gak, I used to do textiles back at school as a course so I know the feeling very well of your fingers being accidental pin cushions. Crikey, you must have sore fingers indeed having to put the needle through the quills! At least he looks impressive though!

Yeah, I did at least one go through per quill then loop- sewed them down about 6 times, they aren't going anywhere! ^_^

Soo many stabbed fingers went into that mane lol, "blood sweat and tears" was a little too literal on this piece! i do love working with feathers though, the end effect is so lovely ^_^

Poor hands!! I know what it feels like, but it's worth the blood, sweat and tears when you finished a doll, then you forget all the frustration!

Indeed, most of the stabs came from pressing hard to get the needle through the quicks a couple times each, painful, but I'm resting easy knowing the feathers won't start falling out left and right!

yeah they're in really good. i'm sure I'll get better at working with feathers, this was only my second doll with feathers sewn into the fur ^_^

his feathers are so awesome. his tail is just right and the mane is just stunning. the amount of detail in him is incredible.
im a bit incoherent at the moment, i will definitely be coming back and writing something more coherent. seeing this in my inbox has made the most brilliant start to my holidays.
