Age: 36
Gender: F
Pokemon: Gengar
Height: 5’5"
Bodystyle: Average/Chubby
Birthday: March 27
Home Island: Affection Atoll
Personality: A stoic and reserved individual. Due to being deep in thought so often she tends to give off an air of absentmindedness. Bit of a lonely nature she has though she tries not to let this side show through much, often opting to hide behind a smile that doesn't truly reach her eyes. It also honestly comes off as being more off-putting and unsettling to others than anything, really. She has trouble conveying emotions both in terms of facial expressions and in actions, and speaks in a formal, deadpanned, and sometimes ambiguous manner. This can make her seem very aloof and disinterested with the world, even if that may not always be the case. Has a bit of a macabre side to her, finding interest in some of the most morally questionable or otherwise gruesome of subjects. She’s also very prone to making many decisions on a whim.
Annette is quite wary and cautious towards strangers, and her low-profile way of living somewhat reflects this. She places great emphasis on the concept of trust and all that it entails, and considers betrayal on any front to be most unforgivable. But to those she has managed to warm up to she'll often find herself acting quite watchful and protective towards them, motherly even, and would probably-almost-certainly do anything for them if they even so much as ask, no matter how illegal questionable it may be.
Though able to maintain a calm and collected persona with relative ease, growing up in a house consisting of primarily of loud and rambunctious family members has led her to become quite agitated and irritable when introduced to loud or overcrowded areas. As a result she can get uncharacteristically pretty annoyed and irritable when interacting with those whom are rowdy and obnoxious themselves.
History: Annette had always been a very reserved, quiet, and shy child, finding much trouble with interacting and socializing with others – a stark difference when compared with her five other loud and obnoxious brothers whom were almost always getting into some kind of trouble. But as obnoxious as they were she envied them, if only because due to their rather troublesome behaviours, they warranted a lot of daddy’s attention. Her father was a very jolly and hardworking family man, and has been taking care of his children himself ever since his wife had died from childbirth, along with the help of his sister or another relative. As the sole parent of this family of 6 he did his best to work hard to provide them shelter and food, often working multiple jobs like being a lumberjack, a trapper, a chokerman, and many other uncommon jobs in the hunting/forestry industry.
Juggling these many jobs often didn’t leave him much time to be at home, and whenever he was he had his hands full at dealing with his rambunctious sons. And how Annette just hated that. She hated how he ended up focusing what little energy he had left from the day dealing with those... buttfaces. She hated how he seemed to spend so much time with them than her. She hated how she wanted him to look and smile and yell at her like that. She hated how easy they made talking and laughing and socializing look. She hated that as obnoxious and rude and unpleasant as they’d all act, it all looked like so much fun. So there she was, hating and envying that relationship they had she was convinced she didn’t.
Daddy, whom was already very much into the whole outdoors, wanted to spend more time with his kids, and so one day he began getting into the whole Family Camping Trip(c) ordeal. Which Annette never really went to. Not that she wasn’t ever invited, but simply because it was a “boy thing” and “no girls allowed” and “it’d be weird” but most of all “you’d just suck out all the fun from it”. They’d often bully her into staying at home, not wanting her presence to “girly-up the place”. So while her brothers and father went out on these trips, she stayed at home with their aunt or a babysitter or whoever else they could find at the time. But that would change. One day when they were going out she decided to go and hide in the trunk of the family car. She was GOING to go on this trip whether her brothers liked it or not. They didn’t even realize she was in there until they got to the destination and opened up the trunk! But at that point they were too far from home to drive her back, so they might as well let her in on the experience. So that’s what they did. They had fun. So did she. They continued on with these little family expeditions of theirs which helped them bond together as a family more and more -- as while as helped Annette break out of that little-reserved-shell of hers and actually interact with her siblings, instead of just withdrawing and hiding away.
These trips continued to happen every so often even up until she was a totally rad teen. At that time, her dad had already begun teaching his eldest sons how to hunt. One day daddy asked her if she wanted to try it too. Her brothers often joked at how much of a terrible idea that was, and how she’d probably blow her hand off or end up crying and shattering the eardrums of everyone around because it was too violent and scary for her to handle. But she wasn’t like that at all; she could be just as good as them if she wanted to, maybe even better! Not wanting them to view her as some weak fragile thing, of course she wouldn’t object to it. So he began teaching her too. Now for obvious reasons she didn't end up getting any hunt nor got the hang of it at the time, but there was just something, something about the tracking; the pull of the trigger; the gunpowder; the thrill of it all... She loved it.
But like most things nothing lasts for long. As the years passed by and the kids got older and older, they begun going on fewer and fewer of these outings, the boys turning their interests away from camping and family gatherings and into other more important things like music, parties, cars, girls... At one point it seemed as if Annette was the only one who would be willing to spend any time with him at all. But that was ok she loved her dad and he her, and with her brothers out of the picture it just meant more time and more of dad’s attention on her. At school her friends would “playfully tease” her about this over-attachment of hers, saying things like girls wouldn’t do these kinda things, it’s weird going camping all the time, it’s even weirder to be so attached to your dad like your in love with him, actually it’s just creepy, and at one point gave her the oh-so-affectionate nickname of Electra which she didn’t even understand until searching the internet one night... At first this didn’t affect her. Much. But as days passed by she too eventually found herself ceasing to situate herself with him, not wanting to be with him, or even in his presence, altogether.
Her dad didn't seem to mind that his children were all growing up now and had their own things to do now. But even a child could’ve seen that he was saddened and somewhat hurt by the actions of his only family. Nevertheless, going out and experiencing nature was - and had always been - a favourite pastime of his, and so he continued periodically to go on these little expeditions, without the presence of his children. But one day he just didn't come back. They later found out in some freak accident there were some wild ursarings in the forest and maybe he threatened one or maybe he was too close to a cub or maybe even he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time... Whatever may have happened, they lost him en route to the hospital. Annette never quite forgave herself for not going with him. If only she didn’t succumb to the idiocy of schoolchildren teasing, if only she didn’t care about what others had to say, if only just maybe her being there would’ve made a difference...
Most people would’ve probably turned to drinking, gambling, or some other form of self-destructive behaviour in a means to cope with whatever situation at hand. Annette however, coped by submerging herself with one of his favourite past-times, and one of hers as well; camping and hunting, finding solace in just being alone, up there in the mountains... The more and more isolated she became, the more and more she slowly began to drive a wedge between her and her siblings. Even after the grieving process was over and done with, she just wouldn’t stop isolating herself from the rest, beginning to actually prefer being alone and growing a new-encountered fondness for hunting animals. At first it was simply innocent; small game, captured alive, and then released back into the wild. But then it just... wasn’t. This for obvious reasons didn't help the repair the wedge and only worsened it further, until sometime into her twenties their ties were eventually severed all together. But at that point Annette began to stop caring about what others though, and continued on with this new-found passion of hers. Time passed by slowly as Annette honed and refined her skills in the art of trapping..
A certain organization had somehow managed to catch wind of her skills, and figuring that Annette would be a viable asset to the team coerced her into joining. Ever since then she’d been working for them, as a poacher hunter. And she didn’t mind at all. In fact for the first time in a while she was content. The people there didn’t care about her reserved or withdrawn persona nor about her sometimes questionable-line-of-thinking. They left her alone with her ever-growing fondness for tracking and subduing pokemon; some of which were even quite intrigued by her skill. She never felt more at home nor more like herself when with these people; it was like having a second family of sorts... a very weird an unconventional second family, but a family nonetheless. And she was happy. Annette continued on like this for a few several years until suddenly the group was forced to abruptly disband their branch, due to "unforeseen circumstances", as she puts it.
Now forced to leave and with no other family to turn to, where would she go? Where would she live? She travelled around for some time after this happening, never staying in one place for too long, until she eventually heard of a place called Raccolto. A relatively unknown chain of islands away from large cities and towns and the looming eyes of the police; it seemed like a perfectly acceptable place to lay low for a while. And so that’s exactly what she did.
