Description I know drawing a Hobbit-maiden won't actually help me write my mid-term, but... Hobbits are such wonderful species. And I do feel better now.

Elanor is Sam Gamgee's eldest daughter, named after a species of little golden blossom found on Cerin Amroth, Lothlorien. The name means "sun-star", and it is the Hobbits' tradition that girls take their name after flowers (and jewels).

I hope daddy Sam will join after my mid-term.

Elanor belongs to Prof. Tolkien.

It goes with my impression of Elanor as being a real cutie and becoming the mascot of the Annuminas court.

Yes, I always picture young Hobbits as cuties; and as for Annuminas mascot, oops, sorry I find it difficult to picture her in courtly raiment standing in front of grand architectures of greatest city in Arnor, even though I know she is appointed Queen Arwen's maid... To me, little Elanor looks more comfortable in her garden dress and apron plucking flowers that her papa has been tending XDΒ Β

The movies really work on the fun-loving and casual aspects of the adventuresome Hobbits, and neglects a lot of the formal good manners that predominate among Hobbits when they feel the need for such things. Elanor as a young hobbit-lass is no more immune to playing princess at Court than any daughter of Men. And as Sam and Rose's daughter she''ll be brought up right and not be a little hooligan! Still, the ability of Hobbits (or at least the squire class) to go from seeming bumpkins to gentlemen or desperate action in an eyeblink is still a surprise to people who really don't know them.

I think Frodo, Merry and Pippin can be really good at switching between the Shire mode and the lofty mode. Frodo has an Elvish bearing. Merry and Pippin proved themselves mighty warrior and dutiful guard. But I never thought the same for Sam. Partly because of the way he speaks, accent and grammar something, and partly because he appears never good at hiding his rashness and shyness... He has the noble characters; he just doesn't display them the way gentlemen usually do.

But pretty sure Elanor can be quite another case. She is born Elven fair, much to her advantage. And you are right, now Sam and Rossie will see to it that all their children receive gentry education (in a natural, Hobbitish fashion )
