Description "Spirit", Acrylic on Masonite, 24"x48", SOLD

This was one of the earliest equine pieces I did and I still didn't have a strong understanding of the horses anatomy. But I wanted to emphasize "speed", "strenght" and "movement" more than realism. This was by far one of the best animal pieces I have done

For this painting, I used a series of reference photos I took of my neice riding a horse and from a horse farm in Tazewell, VA.

Wonderful! Love the choice of colors (especially in the blur) and you can really sense the motion here!

wow thats really something! the muscles look so strong and the movement draws your eyes like the wind portrayed in the painting. Beautiful painting! great limited palette too

Thanks, I only used Cad Yellow, Deep Violet, Alizarin Crimson and Ultramarine Blue but mainly cad yellow and deep violet

Oh and I used some pearlescent paint too!

Thank you, I wanted to use the swirls that I had used before in my abstract art somehow. So I came up with this and for now, I love it. Can't change it now, it belongs to someone else
