It is obvious that the filmmakers are hinting at a past relationship between Davy Jones and Tia Dalma (The pair of identical musical lockets, the similiarities between each others' theme). Well, we'll have to wait to find out, next May. Inspired by GoblinQueen's Pirate chibis, I present a "would be reconcile" between our favorite Voodoo lady and Cthulu impersonator. I'm aware that my Tia doesn't look like she should in the movie. I had drawn her without a reference photo.

This is way cute. I've seen lots of DJ, but nothing cute like this yet. Which is nice. Davy has this rough, tough pirate/squid thing going on... but inside he's just a man with a broken heart. So it's nice to see the good side of him. I love yer style. Very nice.

Anything is possible is right! That's the only thing I really didn't like about this movie: the first one had a beautiful balance twixt reality and fantasy, but this one went full throttle into fiction. Well, okay, it's not so much that I didn't like it, more that it seemed to almost jump genres. Anyways. Yes, horray fer the immortal voodoo lady! Whoever she is, at least we know she's gonna have some big role in all this madness.

That's what I thought about the lockets as well, but if it takes everyone on board the Flying Dutchman hundreds of years to deteriate into sea creatures, surely ol' Bill, uh, I mean Davey Jones, has been a sea creature for a long long time... Mind you Tia Dalma seems to be able to bring people back from the dead! (it's alright for some!! Where's George Harrison, Tia?! Where's George!?!?) So maybe she is at a constant age of twenty six or whatever with "magic" and she's been that way for hundreds o' years...
My theory was that she just helped him become a big squid thing with her magical powers! And that's why she has the locket. I really didn't want the film makers to make it THAT obvious. But we'll have to wait and see!!

Personally, I'm in support of the "immortal voodoo lady" theory, but I can see her helping him become the...er, man he is currently. Probably, after ripping his heart out the first time around, she obliged to do the voodoo-seafood whammy on her ex.

I know I'm not alone on that theory and if we've learned anything from those movies, anything, including the existance of immortal voodoo priestesses, is possible, if not plausible. As for Davy's expression, I've drawn rough drafts of him with this ^_^, but that seemed kind of out of character.
