Tokens, as a game mechanic, have been in a grey area ever since it's inception. Either between being under-utilized, or game-breaking due to Synchro and Link combos, it's annoys me how no-one seems to understand that Tokens can have roles other than easy extension for Synchro or Link plays. I like Tokens because of the interesting options they have avaliable to them. Warden here, is obviously suppose to be an aggressive pay-off for going wide with Tokens; letting your Tokens have double-attacking and piercing, including the Tokens that Warden themselves Summon. The trade-away is that it does require a Token to be Summoned, and it prevents non-Tokens from attacking directly. While OTKs have became normalized in recent years, being OTK'd by a swarm of Tokens instead of Effect Monsters is far more uncommon, and thus refreshing in a sense.
