Description A birthday gift for my wife. I spent over 15 hours on this on a moving train on my journeys too and from work (3 hours each direction). As this was a surprise, I could only complete it on the train and not at home.

I forgot how unforgiving working with pens is... especially on a moving train. I enjoyed the conversation it generated with other passengers, not only curious but impressed at how detailed I managed to work on the moving train.

Final drawing was 15x15cm (5x5") and framed.

The scan does not reveal all the detail, used 01, 03, 05 & 08 size pens. A few small gems hidden in there including my wife's DOB, key, lock, heart, dragonfly, boat etc. etc.

Heavily inspired by Greg Coulton's awesome work. Google him out if you're not sure who he is

Wow this looks really amazing - I can hardly believe how much intricate detail you were able to get in there while on a moving train!  My hand is unstable enough even when sitting still at a desk. O_o

Happy (belated?) birthday to her!

Haha yeah, it certainly took a bit of patience and concentration. There are a few mistakes produced from unexpected train movements but I managed to disguise them fairly well.

Thanks, her 30th birthday was back in 2014
