This shot is absolutely deliciously brooding. I love the exposure and focal length. It's perfect and encapsulates the atmosphere very well. The Aperature is spot on and allows for just the right amount of depth. It gives me the impression as if you've travelled far back to another time and place. Such a thought provoking image, I'd love to take more shots like this.

This place is at the bottom of an old volcano, There is quite a large town built near here but when you go down here, there is a lake and lots of trees and walking trails and you feel like you are far away from people.
This small crater is nestled in between a huge one filled with water, called the Blue Lake (inspirational I know) and a Valley Lake on the other side, so if you climb up the sides between the ferns and huge pine trees, you can see over the other side, its an amazing view. And then you go back down into this secluded and darkish forest crater. That's why the background in this shot is slanted like that, it goes up and up really steeply, you feel like you are in a very secluded place in the middle of nowhere, its quite a beautiful and special place to be.

Thank you so much for providing me with such a detailed portion on the location of this picture. I'd really like to visit this place when I get the chance! When I first viewed this photograph, my urge was to climb up the steep hill at the end of the road. When I set my sights on something, I don't stop until I attain it and this is a place that I WANT to visit!
