Polish pre-WW2 war actress, Ina Benita.She's my fav actress nowadays, I mean, I love other actresses too, but right now, she's my number one. I love EVERYTHING about her, but mostly, her mysterious eyes and something in her that made her look like a woman who anticiparsed her times - maybe the way she was spoke maybe the way she moved. I don't know...
and remember I told you she died during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944?
She probably did not.
She probably survived, but more about this is yet to come...

well, the photo itself was so mysterious, her best, i think... i just coloured it, and as you can see, there was not much to colour, the whole photo is rather black

well, supposingly she survived the war with her baby son, and then escaped to Austria, where she lived incognito - years later, one day another famous Polish actress of the interwar period answered the phone - the man asked her, in Polish with German-like accent if she knew Ina Benita... and suddenly, the woman asked - 'Are you her son, mister?' - and he hung up.
seriously, we had a big article on her recently in a major literary magazine, too fab & too mysterious! I even talked a bit with the author, he said he's writing a huge book on her... I can't wait!
