I'm noticing a lot more Family Guy parody than there used to be on your page with fantasy movie crossovers.
It got me to thinking that Ray Harryhausen's 100th birthday is coming up next year, and this would be the most likely time that the Seth Macfarlane team might produce an episode parodying a Harryhausen classic.
While Jason And The Argonauts would likely be one of the top picks, I would think 7th Voyage would have an equal shot at the mashup and might even offer more opportunities to churn out some good gags (I will admit some bias here).
On that line of thought, I've been pondering the various roles. Peter is the obvious choice for Sinbad, the role of Parisa easily fits Lois, and Brian naturally falls into Harufa's part. In addition, Carter Pewterschmidt then becomes perfect for the sultan of Chandra, but I'm running into some hurdles with the rest of the cast. A lot of the trouble comes from where to place Stewie and Chris as I feel both would be perfect for the role of the genie. Thinking about it a bit more, it makes sense to have Chris as the genie, and Stewie as Sokura, but then I'm torn because I'm in love with the idea of Herbert being Sokurah (almost solely) because of the dynamic it creates between him and the genie if Chris is in that role. I might be letting this one idea cloud my judgement about the choice, but what say you?
As for the collection of monsters that show up, I'm leaning toward the main supporting cast and popular re-occuring characters like Cleveland, Joe, and Quagmire, as well as Bruce ("Oh nooooo..."), Greased Up Deaf Guy and other potentials, but haven't fully settled on anyone because of earlier mentioned role challenges as well as some new ones when it comes to some character dynamics. Example, I'm feeling Quagmire and Cleveland as the baby roc chick, and then have Bonnie and Donna as the Mother Roc, but then I think maybe it makes more sense for Quagmire's transgendered mother to be the second roc head over Bonnie because of the character connection, but then I'm having trouble seeing the joke there. Makes me throw my hands up in the air and think I'm going about this the wrong way.
Same kinda goes for Joe as the cyclops, as he's got the testosterone for it, but then it might be funny to go in the opposite direction and instead subvert it with Mort Goldman as the treasure-hoarding giant while also playing up his characteristic stereotype. The choice also gets compounded by there being a second cyclops, and fitting someone in there that both works as a counterpart to the first cyclops, as well as someone who's at odds with the character that ends up as the dragon (maybe Bonnie would work?) . I've almost figured it would be better and easier to just go with a surprise guest appearance by Turanga Leela, everyone's favorite cartoon sitcom cyclops.
Thinking back on it, I feel like I can safely place Mayor West in for the caliph of Baghdad with his leadership position synergy and that he could be convincingly oblivious to Sokura being the one most likely responsible for shrinking the princess. Oh, and the Giant chicken has to be the Skeleton; a complete oversized chicken skeleton is funny on it's own, but the shared history with Peter is what really sells it.
I'm looking at this wall of text behind me and I feel like I should try to wrap these thoughts up and spare you the time.
Anyway, I'd say fill in the various mutinous convicts with some of those popular re-occurring characters too and... I just remembered there was a dilemma I was having with Meg too. First I thought that she would be perfect for Sadi, but then I remembered that they always give her the shaft in these movie parodies by making her one of the monsters. However, the monsters are kinda the stars in Harryhausen films, so maybe she doesn't even get that spotlight and they just insert her as the cobra that Sokurah throws in the large urn along with Sadi. If it goes that route, does the snake woman then resemble both the character that ends up playing Sadi as well as Meg, or does maybe Meg's hat just show up somewhere on the tail, and when it rebels in strangulation, someone breaks the 4th wall and comments that she's maybe finally had enough of getting the usual treatment and has decided to lash out against herself and the handmaiden she's been joined to?
If it happened that Meg isn't cast as Sadi only to have the rug pulled out from under her immediately after the snake-woman transformation (which could still be funny if she thinks everyone finds her beautiful now only for Peter to to then heckle her), I think Consuela would be a good alternative. I'm thinking of the scene where Sinbad first tries to enter his cabin to speak with the princess, and there's Consuela in the doorway as Sadi listlessly responding "Nooo... nooo... nooooo..."
Sorry if this is found to be less of an interesting inquiry to your own thoughts and more of a nuisance with its sheer length. I see that it's become mostly a rambling string of consciousness.

100 years...hard to believe that. My pops would have been 90 this January. I thought it was humorous that in that Greek parody of the Simpsons they worked up a sketch of the Comic Book Guy as a cyclops, but they probably ran out of time for the gag. I think you've seen my pic of Patty and Selma as the cyclops twins, and of course I've done several with Leela in the role. All this is worth considering in a Family Guy parody. And hey, if they did it with Star Wars,
they can do it with 7th Voyage. Maybe I can do a series with it.

I have not seen this mashup of the Comic Book Guy and the Odyssey before. Is this the one you mean? It's like he's making gyros, which makes sense considering his heavy lamb diet.
I remember; the dreaded biclops sisters. They leave a trail of cigarette butts everywhere they go.
The idea to maybe have Leela come in at the end as the second cyclops was inspired by your cross-over pictures of her; credit where credit is due.
I guess time will tell if they end up doing a parody episode sometime next year, but I think they would probably need to talk with either Sony or Columbia Pictures first (the former owns the latter to some degree) to get a green-light on it. I suppose they could skate by legally by calling it parody, so maybe the odds aren't terrible.
You doing a Family Guy inspired series of 7th Voyage pieces would be the next best thing if the inspiration strikes. If you decide at any point that you'd want input with writing, or a joke pitch for a scene, I'd be happy to assist if I'm able.

I had never seen that color pic before; mine was just a character sketch from one of the DVD's. Those color pics are a gas.

Well, actually Quagmire would have to be one of the suitors...

The finished product at last! A little less dramatic than the thumbnail sketch you emailed me, but nevertheless, a cute, sexy portrayal of our beloved Lois Griffin. And I'm sure both Peter and Quagmire appreciate being saved from the "clashing rocks" by the queen of the seas. Outstanding.

The client wanted more of a smile on her face to the people she was helping; I originally had her straining to push the rocks apart. I had more of a scowl on her face.

While I agree that the original expression on Lois' face would've been more dramatic and in keeping with the scene in the movie, nevertheless, you have to give the client what he/she is paying for. That's the downside of commissioned art. But this version is still pretty cute and original. I hope your client liked it.

Yes, I did like it. Just what I was looking for.
Also, the original sketch was more dramatic and very nicely-done, but I felt her expression in it could be interpreted as anger instead of just strain. I chose to make her amused about the situation.
(Oh, and you may want to re-think calling someone else's vision a 'downside of commissioned art.')
