Description This is for *-coey- her character Tei... for no particular reason other than I royally botched the last pic of Tei I did for her contest... so this is sorta like penance...

I discovered I still suck at painting in OpenCanvas... so this still looks crappy, BUT it's far less crappy than the old pic, and has the added benefit of actually looking something like Tei... rum hum... yes my anatomy is better these days... not sure why Teitei looks so sad... but he sure looks like he needs a hug. *hugs tei*

Heya Marie! I think this picture is very far from being "crappy". I love the details and the expression of Tei... I think he's going to get a lot of hugs from many Deviant girlz, including me.

Oh dear, I did get your last message... and didn't manage to reply. The e-mail is still working though, no fears. Good wishes to you also for Christmas and the New Year! There are going to be a lot of changes in my life, but hopefully although they are painful now, in the end it will be for the better.

This is beautiful. You have a great sense of proportion, and I love the colours; also the way his hair and the cloth pool on the ground. His expression seems sweetly sad... *gives him a hug*

Very pretty sketch! anatomy do look correct and I like his pose...
I think only the foot received a bit less attention than the rest, but in a sketchy drawing it fit well!.
I really like his hairs, the flows of them and their coloring.

Heh... yeah the foot did get a bit less attention... I had to erase it and redraw it a couple of times, so when it looked mostly right, I stopped. I was pretty happy with the painting process though... started with volume instead of outline (novel idea!) I added the line drawing afterwards. I was trying to be a little faster than with some of my other stuff... but I'm still not too good at this "painterly" thing. Ah well, I still learned a lot about how Oc works and tried a softer palette, so even if it doesn't look exactly how I wanted, it still was a good excersize to paint a picture all the way through in one day, and experiment.

so glad you like him! I have another tei sketch, a youg tei, but i haven't colored it or anything. lol... not as good with Oc as I wanna be... this is only like the 3rd pic I've ever painted in it so I don't know it too well yet. But it's lots better than the last one! Whee! I dunno why he got so sad though.. I tried to make him happier but he just wanted to be sad. poor Tei.

Aw... heh. Thanks for the comment.. Lol... sketchy style... so funny I was trying not to be *so* sketchy... but I can't seem to help myself! I guess it is almost being painterly.. I was trying to be quick, but unfortunately I had to paint the face 5 or 6 times so it took longer than I thought. hee hee ohwell...
