Very similar to Aribeth's pose from NWN1, did you use that as a reference?

I didn't use any specific reference for Jaina (apart from getting the armour/costume details from the WoW model), I've always liked that sort of 'upshot' pose and keep playing with it in different ways (my Morrigan pic uses the same pose but in a more extreme angle).

sick talent. After seeing 'An invitation for a beating' I'm kind of curious as to what the original pencil drawing looked like.

Others have mentioned it, so I'll just say it once then move on: Jaina has grandma hands, and the effect is pretty jarring.
Moving on...
There is a considerable amount to like about this pic, and as a huge Jaina fan, I can definitely say that you've captured the character's essence quite well. The use of colour is pretty fantastic, with an excellent contrast between the purple, white and gold, gives her a noble, almost regal appearance. Her pose and expression are also very good. Aside from the grandma hands, the only other thing I could suggest improving for next time would be the lack of background, but the pic doesn't really suffer due to its lack. Keep up the great work!

Hey, no problem, dude. I much as I do like the good old-fashioned ego stroke review, constructive criticism is also very useful, and I'm glad to hear that I had something helpful to say. Keep up the awesome work! (particularly with the colouring, it's good to hear that it's working so well for you!)

I'm using what I know about colour from my marker rendering days, and as you said, it can be a struggle coming from b&w work but I'm learning some new tricks in Photoshop which are helping.

well, actually, you should lose some details on those fingers. They radiate too much. The fingers don't look like they are from hers body.
