Description This is my 300th deviation and also my first deviation from this summer's trip.

I am not sure what it is about this picture, but I fell in love when i first saw it on the LCD. It's the atmosphere. I guess it really feels like London to me. (which I loved by the way)

The red telephone booth is definitely my favourite London symbol. It's so abstract and definitely has a story to it. The story changing depending on your mood, of course

What's yours?

What a fantastic exposure! It really gives a special air to this picture. I also love the read booths, they're scattered all over London, and each has a unique story.

It's the fact that the council were too lazy to take those barriers back in on the right hand-side

But no, I'm British and it still kinda gives me goosebumps when I see travellers take pictures like this then talk about them. The phonebox is one of those long endearing symbols as us as a nation.

I like it

Something to do with spies.

We British are very good at having spies.

(Good photo, btw)

I just love this image. Those phone booths are really quite striking I think. I have a serious obsession with London. I spent four months there for school a few years ago and have been SERIOUSLY craving it lately!!!! How long were you there? What was your favorite part? Tell me all about your London experience so I can relive mine...

Great job.

We used to have telephone boxes like that down here in New Zealand till around 1990 (way back when we were still a lot more of a mini-England than we are now) so every time I see one in pictures now, it's like time-warping.

...back when Coke was only 50c a can and having $2 was like being a millionaire.

Wow! I love this picture... reminds me of my love for this city...
ItΒ΄s an old dream I have: being to and living in London.
IΒ΄ve been there for two times, but only for a few days. Now somehow I must find a way to live there for a couple of years, so that I can really know and experience it.
The lightpost you show reminds me of some in front of the Houses of the Parliament, which have some funny fish in its base, as if they were holding the light!

Enjoy your trip!

This is kinda weird for me... I'm not sure about all those white areas, but I think it was on purpose knowing u're are a very good photographer...
It all looks so shaky and a bit sad in my oppinion, and that's actually my vision of London, a grey sad city with it's phone booths creating a bit of color every here and there...

(sorry about my english)

Beautiful composition. The red is striking and the movement adds to the "busy-ness" of the piece.

Impressive as always my friend.

Interesting shot. It's quite bizzare in the sense that a traditional phone box does not nothing for me, but is perhaps more of interest to non-UK deviants. I suppose it's much the same as pictures of the Eiffel tower for French/non-French people.

That said, the over-exposure works well.

(On a side note, it's interesting how radically different this is to my latest deviation (which oddly contains another UK phone booth) - Don't pick it up . Hmm... perhaps I need to take some happy pills. )

An exceptional shot. Very cool.
The exposure in this shot gives it this look of quality that you would see in British video productions and documentaries.
And that quick shot of movements give it this stylish depth. That's cool.
It's nice. It's bright. It's London, on a beautiful day. Very cool.

London always makes me think of busy pubs. I like the softer blurry feel on this, with the car and the general softer subjects. Does feel a little bit cluttered/ jumbled, with the car, railings and traffic lights all cascading on top of each other. In turns this either makes me feel that it could be improved or that it just represents the jumbled mess of London more clearly. There aren't a lot of open spaces there so this seems appropriate, though it suffers from a 'clean design' standpoint.

Solid travel shot though.
