I was very glad that usagi defended rei by those women, i know they wanted to find the missing girl but they didnt had to go so rough against rei just because she has these mysterious powers...

That was "pretty" stupid... I really did not understand all thst stuff about "OMG SHE'S SO BEAUTIFUL..." BTW wasn't Usagi supposed to be the most beautiful? I always thought she was supposed to be the most beautiful, her or Venus b/c she's based off Venus/Aphrodite, the most beautiful goddess in the traditional panteon. (Sailor Moon is based on Roman/Greek Mythology) Β
Usagi is based off the little known Moon Goddess Selene... that's probably why in the dub they changed her name to Serena b/c it sounds like Selene. Then again I re-watched the dub and I had this previous memory of Darien's being referred to as Prince Endymion when he's in his "Prince Form," but I was wrong. They always calls him Prince Darien. He should probably be called Prince Endymion b/c of the myth of Selene and Prince Endymion, off of which the main one of the main plots of the show, their romance (Usagi X Mamoru) is based.
Anyway, Rei/Mars being referred to as being so beautiful by Usagi really makes no freaking sense. Mars/Aries is the god of war... and has nothing to do with beauty, other than the fact that all gods/goddesses in Roman/Greek mythology are inhumanely beautiful. I believe Diana/Selene/Artemis... take your pick, would be more beautiful than Mars/Aries.Β

His name is Prince Endymion in the the manga and the original Japanese anime. The Dub made some curious choices as far as names go (is Lita even a name?).
As for the beauty thing, all the senshi are supposed to be extraordinarily beautiful. The creator Naoko Takeuchi actually received some flack for this because before Sailor Moon sentai groups (color coded hero groups like the Power Rangers) were supposed to have at least one "unattractive" or goofy looking member. Bishoujo Sailor Moon veered away from this tradition and made the senshi all beautiful goddess like warriors.
That said, beauty is subjective, so all the scouts are beautiful in different ways. This version of Rei is beautiful because of how solemn and intense she is. Minako is beautiful in a fun and desirable way. Plus, I don't think Usagi would openly say she is the prettiest one. Usagi just wants to surround herself with as many beautiful people as she can gaze on ;D

Guess so... still it seemed weird how much she fawned all over her and she really didn't give a crap about Ami... isn't she supposed to be really pretty too... like you just said... (and as I said... the beautiful warrior thing is what Sailor Moon is kinda about, and also probably the fact that they're based on gods/goddesses, who are inhumanely beautiful, and also... they aren't fully human. Actually they're... human incarnations of Moon People or something... so I guess they're actually all aliens to a certain degree)Β

Yes, the names in the American Dub are kinda weird, but I like that they changed Usagi's name to Serena, actually, b/c it is more akin to the name Selene, (yes I know about the Japanese thing about the rabbit in the moon, but since nothing else in the show is Japanese, it's all Roman... in the Japanese show, yes, it's Roman... well I think Serena fits her better) but then it is weird that they didn't ever call "Darien/Mamoru" Prince Endymion... Lita is probably short for something but I have no idea what... like how they call Minako Mina... they probably thought Makato was a weird name for a girl and couldn't think of a good way to shorten it. Lita at least sounds feminine... b/c it ends with an "A" and not an "O" and in English names ending with "A" are typically female and names ending in "O" are typically male.Β

I always wondered about Artemis's name, too... that's probably the same in the Japanese, but Artemis is a girl's name. I guess it sounds kinda masculine, at least a lot more than Luna, but... guess there are no Male Moon gods? I found the Japanese word for Moon was Tsuki, and even that sounds kinda feminine... ebalance.deviantart.com/art/Saβ¦

Oh well... and as for making up your own names... I do that. The main character of my book series is Fwendil Fler, and he lives on the planet Zemondraya. I gave him that name because I wanted him to stand out as a character. I did not want him to have a "normal" name.Β
