Young Justice, comic issue 20
It was revealed that happened.
But, now they broke up and Nightwing is with Batgirl in that mini series comic.
It was tying into the second season of the Young Justice cartoon.

Even JLU she was used sparingly......more in Young Justice

Still i wish there were more heroines in BTAS. There were so many female characters in that show, and yet pretty much all of them except Batgirl and Officer Montoya were villains

At the time they only had the rights to Batman characters. It can get a little sticky trying to pull in more DCU characters. Batman TAS was their first big success...so you have to think of it a a huge step forward

He has lots of female allies: Zatanna, Katana, Black Canary, lots of  Batgirls, Bat Woman, Spoiler just to name a few

I think it would have been too much too soon. It gave the TAS that Bruce Timm produced more to eventually grow on. Personally I feel there was more to do after JLU...but there seems to be hope with Justice League Gods and Monsters
