Water in the lungs does not = love!

I don't know why I have this fear, I've never had a traumatic wave incident or anything. Even little 1 foot white caps in the great lakes creeps me out.

But I think wave pools are fun ^_^

Great photo and that was based solely on the beautifully saturated color and the action.

Knowing it's your guy and that he's returning after an injury makes it all that much sweeter. I can't engage in the sport I love (BMX freestyle) because of a shoulder injury that left me with a titanium rod in my shoulder. One end of the rod rests too close to my carotid artery and even a minor spill could puncture it and leave me kicking on the ground for the few short minutes before I died. Sobering thought and the sad fact is, shoulder armor might not even prevent it.

Tell your guy to enjoy himself as long as he can and he'll always make a good subject for your photos.

egads...nobody ever said anything about that..he still has a titanium rod in there..in fact its too large and has to come out...there are screws that seem to be backing out of it...and yes its VERY close to that artery..
but after the first one broke ( did i ever tell you about that? ) we have no insurance..the doc who put it in is in "cover his own ass mode" and is SO nasty to Keane...
he told him he " whatever..go ahead and surf"

he only goes on small days....but he still wipes out.
oh God now Im all worried LOL

I know that it's a misnomer than wiping out in water isn't as tough on the body as wiping out on land, but at least he won't be sliding across an asphalt lot to hit a concrete parking block.

I guess the old saying fits both sports - never go bigger than you're willing to fall.

nod...we had a long talk after your comment...lol poor dood..but I couldnt live without him, so i cover those kinda details!
hes surfed for 25 years and has promised me he knows "how to fall"
and being an ex surfer myself i know what he means..

So Im over that anxiety attack!

you!

Decarabia69 In reply to Iriesurfinchick [2009-06-25 19:33:24 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I know how to fall too, it's just the sudden stops caused by immovable objects that gets me every time.

Don't worry, I'm sure he'll be careful and if he knows the area where he's surfing, I'm sure he'll be alright. I didn't mean to cause you any concern.
