Really cool shot, although I'm not sure about global warming. We might be giving ourselves too much credit. Decreasing solar activity has caused the icecaps to grow. I think we need to look at it in a bigger picture than just our little earth. I remember about 10/15 years ago when they told us we were probably going to die due to the holes in the ozone layer. The only ones we are hurting with our polluting is ourselves, earth will easily survive us.

And how fortunate it was, that we started to take care about the ozone layer, so that it started to recover A lot of people are skeptical about the human involvement in global warming, but most scientist involved in the field seem to be quite convinced. On the other hand the media can sometimes be pretty misleading on things like that... Sometimes they tend to speak about global warming like something that is unstoppable, other times they try to convince people that one particular event is a proof that there is no global warming. We really need to take care what to believe...

Anyway: the intense melting of glaciers around the world is a pretty strong evidence of global warming, and it seems unlikely that it's only by ill luck, that this melting started exactly when the industrial revolution took place, and became even stronger in the 50s-60s when emission rates started to climb faster than before. I've seen the Pasterze many-many times, and it always amazes me how extremely fast it's melting. Going there, and seeing is the only way to really come close to global warming and feel how real it is.
